Living on the Edge !! A little fun on New Years Day !!
As I type this my wife and ultra !!! observant 15 year old daughter that loves to bust me !! are sitting on the couch behind me as I am at my computer desk and they are watching the parade on TV. Neither has realized yet that I have recently bought a third EDGUN when I got the .30 in new Orleans while on vacation last week. They knew about my .25 as I had it out playing with it regularly before we left 2-3 weeks ago. What she did not realize was I had already put the .22 short in the safe a couple of days before we left. 🙂
I am having fun playing with fire here I guess….. I got the .30 std. in the safe and been mounting the scope on the .22 this morning with the .25 in the case laying under the tree. Neither has any idea it is not the .30 std. I bought last week yet.
It ‘s about to get fun now and here is the hitch I am devising a way to put the now scoped up and ready to go .22 short back in the case and swap it with the .30 currently residing in the safe without getting caught with 3 of the beautiful green soft side cases in sight at the same time. 🙂 Wish I would have paid more attention the the Illusionist putting on those magic shows on the ship last week.
I’ll advise how it goes if I survive….. If not, It’s been nice knowing you guys 🙂 ……………..
EDIT : Ok, I wimped out on pulling off the full monty and decided not to do it with them sitting here and I am going to wait on them to go to the kitchen on a commercial !! then all it is, is the different appearance in the two guns. !! If I post an update you will know I lived this daring feat………..

I just got a chance going to shooting my R3 .30 Cal long today, and I’m very lucky with my Edgun’s Family (none of them had any problem at all, no pellet clip, no air buff) 😀
top down:
– R3 .30 cal long with Nightforce ATACR (5-25×56 – MOA Zero Stop)
– R3 .25 cal long with Nightforce F1 (3.5-15×50 -Milrad Zero Stop)
– R3 .22 cal long with Bushnell Elite 4200 (8-32×40)

Yep. I´ve read about that somewhere. I think it was on the Discovery Channel and Sir David Attenborough was hosting a program about the behaviour of different Mammals. If my memory serves me correctly the only species that were unable to regularly cheat their counterpart were those Hickus Inbredictus i mentioned in that heated “Atlas Clone” thread. Since the species Inbredictus oftentimes also builds a pair with their male cousins and such, the thing never worked due the fact both of the “pair” were male of the species.
Maybe i´m wrong though …
We all do it. It’s built into the ‘reptilian’ part of our brains…that part that make our hearts beat and us breathe, automatically…it’s a survival thing early male hominids learned when they first started to walk upright, and fuck with women’s minds.

That part i agree to. It would be my choice too (lying over the purchase price) wasn´t it for the fact my wife is the one who makes the actual payments in our household (thru Internetbanking) so she can actually see all the payments i make and have an access to all my/our Bank Accounts. She´s the one with sense for order so that job ( payments in time) is dedicated to her.
If it was up to me we´d be without electricity,phones and whatnot every month since i´d forget to make all the payments in time.
If i need to lie about the price i need to use my “side cash” to pay for stuff that doesn´t concern her – or since i don´t lie to her, ” bend the truth” , or leaving part of it out, would be the correct nomenclature.
Needless to say my current wife has no issues with me buying things. We both make great money.
When I was going to buy first Edgun I showed her cuz I was exited to get a nice PCP and she was surprised a pellet gun cost so much. But she knows I spend money on things that are worth it. When I bought the second Edgun it was a great local deal and done quick. I hadn’t done anything with it for a few days until new scope arrived and when I was mounting scope she noticed scoped looked much larger and asked if it was new. I told her yes and so was the gun. She said the gun looked exactly the same as far as she knew but the scope definitly looked bigger. So I pulled out the 22 and showed her and explained the difference between 22 and 25 cal. She couldn’t care less what I spent as long as I’m happy.
Funny thing is she knows which is which by scope. I was going to nail a rat late one night and grabbed the 25. She said take the 22. It’s quieter this time of night but just use those predator pellets and kill it good. God I love her.

been 10 at the time. Definitly not ready for my Mac daddy vibe back then. 🙂
I met her when she was in her mid 20s, out of college and starting on a great career path.
I thought to myself , short, feisty and great income potential. Just a bottle wine and she’s mine.

Besides, no woman knows one gun from another. Their brains simply do not register details about things that don’t interest them. Numbers….however that’s a different story. If you show a woman one gun at a time, she will not recognize any differences. If you show her three guns at once, then you have to explain one is a “loaner” from a forum member who needs your assistance in getting it “accurized and calibrated”….use big words that have no meaning to women.
Woman are loathe to admit they don’t understand a term men use. They will just stand there and say nothing, possibly give you a knowing grunt…or roll their eyes to show their total disdain for all things manly.
Be brave, my brother….never show fear! They can smell fear…and whatever else you do…NEVER BLINK when talking to a woman!!! They see this as an indication you are lying, which you probably are, so freeze those lids, and concentrate on puckering your bung hole when you are cornered.
It probably won’t work, but at least you’ll go down like a man.

NO, No, No, you guys got it all wrong. You guys REALLY underestimate your wife’s in general!
They know, trust me they know. They just ok with the fact that you are playing with your toys, while they are watching their favorite tv shows, cooking or shopping. As long as you are playing with your toys and not cheating, they are turned away to let you be. Wives know, a happy husband is a good husband. I would not for a second under estimate the wife because once you do, you will get caught.
Oh yeah, a little prayer won’t hurt either….” Oh dear God, if I am to die today, PLEASE do not let my wife sell my airguns for the same price or less than what I told her I bought it for”.

Well, I decided to go for broke and let her bust me while taking some pictures …………………. nope nothing, she don’t have a clue, I was kidding my self. I do kinda hope she don’t ask what these Edgun thingys cost, I am sure her concept is that they are cheap compared to others I have. 🙂 Head games with girls, oh well, like I said a little new years day fun…… Their both awesome and helped me throw down on cleaning that garage I mentioned earlier.
Well I made it through 🙂 Still fun to play games with them though. Ya Hoot and Svill are right, they don’t know one from another but would have a knack for color or size. It was funny I put the .22 short with the scope installed in the bag on a commercial and pulled out the .30 with no scope on it out of it’s bag and set in in the gun holder on the coffee table right in front of where they came back and sit down and proceeded to start installing yet another new scope and they never even asked a question when they came back…. Females !!!! She really just don’t care or is oblivious of my guns or maybe me and my guns for that matter. I am done for the day but the next time I will get all three out at the same time and see if she notices. I think part of it is they don’t want to admit ignorance of what we do or like in our hobbies. I am a private pilot and used to have several planes in the hanger out at our local airport and when she stopped out she never could tell one from another 🙂 so why would I think she would recognize when my gun collection changes.
It’s not so comfortable to be watched by the big brother. but no matter where we live, they do watch. Then we need a team to handle those things that bother us. we need lawyer, we need accountant, we need good salesman….
