DB,
How’s the sound diff between the standard Vet and it with the SUMO installed. Also, have you tried pushing any 34gr JSB to max yet?
Keep breaking her in and congrats on the new rife. Its a trick setup!!
Regards,
DT
Thanks DB. I posted over on GTA the idea of doing just that with a Magpul rail on the bottom.
I haven’t shot it in a week got way too busy and weather has been raining or very windy.
Bizill I did have to drill my stock for it. I don’t mind as it’s very flat so was nice and easy to do. Could mount a picatinny rail in it also easily with 2 screws! I would use lows if I could but couldn’t fit lows so I have SWFA Medium mount rings. It’s the perfect height for me and get perfect alignment.
Thanks Tony. I’m all over the mediums then. I’ll probably stick to cheaper mounts. No real need for me to buy LaRue or Bobro or anything like that. Probably just something in the $30 range.
What ft/lb energy will these be coming in at in the .25? R&L says 45 on their site and yours says 55. Just curious.
Okay, so it seems I’ll have a clone of Dairyboy’s Vet. I didn’t realize Tony sold the Taipan ldc adapters to go with Donny’s ldc’s so I had to call back and have him tack that onto the sale.
Meanwhile, Dairy, did you have to drill into the stock to mount the bipod? That would have been a benefit of the Vulcan as it has the provision for an added rail.
Also, your scope rings…what height are they? They look like lows or mediums? How comfy is your cheekweld with that low-mounted scope? I know everyone’s face is built differently. I plan to add my Athlon Argos 6-24×50 scope and need rings. I was shopping for a 20moa rings setup but don’t need to with the Vet’s built-in 20moa. I hope I’m not dreaming too hard trying to reach out to 100yds with this Vet.
Well, after opting out of the RTI Arms The Priest I just got off the phone with Tony and got this black Veteran .25 on order. I think I got the last one. I forgot he had them and was going to go through R&L but they sold out quickly. Then I was perusing Tony’s sales site and duh, forgot he had the Taipans. Called up and didn’t figure he’d have anymore black but did so BAAM! Got one on order.
It was this or the Vulcan, I think I’d still probably rather have the Vulcan, but a bit more money. Not a lot, but it is what it is… :4:
And Dairyboy, you can update your sig to no longer say “ordered” but rather “owned”. :hoot:
more tests ! please
Looks like a keeper, nice bullpup. :biggrinn:
Thanks! Definitely a keeper to me and oh yeah I’ve smacked quite a few so far :biggrinn: just wish I had more time to do so
Have u nailed any pests with your new puppy Dairy…… 🙄
Looks like a keeper, nice bullpup. :biggrinn:
I actually have a hard time getting used to shooting my Wildcat. Having the cocking lever there seems different for my style of shooting. I to like a single shot tray so cocking at the rear doesn’t bother me at all.
Yeah I haven’t had a bullpup with the forward lever cocking but to me it’s not a big deal as I shoot with the single shot tray on all my guns hunting or otherwise so I hafta unshoulder the gun anyways. There’s a fellow airgunner though that has the same thought who lives about an hour away and he wants a .25 bullpup. Torn between a Wildcat and Veteran but mainly due to where the cocking lever is. He’s coming out next week to try it out.
Yes I agree, the cocking lever location on the Vulcan is more “natural”.
I have the same feeling about the lever location on the Ar15.
Millions made but for me it is just in the wrong place.
And yes, you are a lucky Beach-Boy 😀
Pippo, I guess I’m one of the lucky ones!! As I purchased a Vulcan 25 2 years ago and today I got my Mutant Veteran in 22 from UPS today! The Vulcan is an absolute laser out of the box and rarely misses POA when I do my part. It sends the pellet towards the target at 901 fps(JSB 25.39 grn) on average from the mussel today just as it did upon opening the box when new. ES of 7 to 10 is constant with STD of 2 or 3 usually over 36 shots, needless to say I LOVE my Vulcan in 25. Just got Mutant today and I really like the look and feel, craftsmanship is superb, after I get familiar with it I will post about a comparison between the two…gonna be lots of Fun :4: . My only complaint is the location of the cocking lever, it will take some getting use to because I really like the Vulcan side lever location…we will see. Happy shooting to all.

I’ve pushed the Mk II 34 grains up to 850-860 just to see what it is capable of. There may be a little more room at the top. Only had a chance to do a little accuracy testing, which seemed promising. 2 drawbacks so far: definitely louder crack even with an LDC, and shot count is going down significantly.
