lord altros Regulators???

I believe the FX 400 tank will work. Anyone out there with info?

I really want a 400cc and reg like that, anyone know how or where to get a 400cc tank?
Good Looking String! 😀

I think that I will wait 3 weeks and order one from Ondrej. I am not real happy with his regulators 7 bar output increase as the input pressure drops and Doug, I will probably end up buying a regulator setup from you also.
.
I would be keen to look at the new design Ondrej is working on.
With his current reg, I tried all possibilites of pre-chambers and the max I could go was 950 fps with a 31gr kodiak in .25 cal (21 inches barrel)
I had the reg maxed out and I could just get 15 high power regulated shots before the presure drops froms it regulated limit.
From what I have seen his reg is best for those guys who love to shoot at average speeds. (loads of shots per fill when the reg is set to 150~180)
For we zombies who love to juice the max out of the condor or any other rig with the heaviest pellet or cast there, Ondrej is yet to come up with something.
OK….. my dementia has kicked in and I don’t remember the thread that I said I would post the results of my Altaros regulator, so it goes here. 🙂
I don’t have all day to find it. I’ve got starlings and sparrows’ lives to go end. 😯
Equipment
Condor .22 with 24″ barrel
Altaros regulator
JSB18.1
Fill to 3000 end 1400
Shot #1 chrony’d at 895 (3000psi)
Shot #25 chrony’d at 890 (2500psi)
Shot #50 chrony’d at 891 (2000psi)
Shot #75 chrony’d at 884 (1450psi)
By the numbers
High 900.80fps
Low 882.03fps
Avg 882.03fps
ES 18.77
SD 3.31 😀
76 total shots
The reg is fully adjustable. It could get any speed for any weight of pellet.
I’ll be watching for the results! 😉

Hi Guys.
I have been looking into a Lord Altros regulator for my Boss project. I need a regulator that is adjustable up to 190-200 bar and will take 250 bar inlet pressure. The Boss air bottle uses the same threads as the Air Force bottle and Ondrej (Lord Altros) says that his reg will screw into either of the bottles.
Ondrej’s regulator screws into the bottle and then, I guess, it screws the Air force air valve housing? Ondrej says that his reg will work on the Air Force guns as well as the FX Royale/Boss so, I guess that both guns use the same thread size.
I will remove the Boss’s regulator and that will give me plenty of regulated pressure pre chamber volume.
Doug, will the regulator setup that you sell adjust up to 190-200 bar output pressure and handle a 250 bar input? Do you just modify an E-Tac regulator or do you use something else?
I just got another email from Lord Altros. Here is a cut and paste:
Hello Tedd,
regulator can operate for inlet pressure 250bar, the same pressure is used in rifles gunpower (same bottle).
Max outlet pressure from regulator is 200bar, but for 160bar slightly reduces the control precision. For 180bar. The deviation of output pressure of about 5-7 bar. The inlet pressure 250bar = output pressure 180 and for inlet 190bar = output pressure is 187bar.
I want to point out that there is still doubt about the power, because I thing the chamber is not large enough and air through the regulator sufficient to close the valve on the rifle after the shot, using a heavy hammer.
If you want to try it, so I would recommend to wait about three weeks for the new regulator body that have stop the plunger regulator in the case of the valve on the rifle is closed, and the piston will remain in the regulator and it is not necessary to pisto re-push to regulator.
With kind regards
Ondrej

I tried turning up the Boss’s regulator, adding a heavier hammer and maxing out the hammer spring. None of the adjustments made any difference, except for a lower shot count. I couldn’t get any improvement over the stock speed of 870 fps with the 46.4 grain pellet. I think that the Boss’s regulator is maxed out from the factory.
I did remove the regulator and block the regulator’s bleed port. I got 980 fps using a 220 bar fill. Each additional shot was 5-7 fps slower. I want to shoot the 46.4 grain pellets at 930 fps and I think that a 190-200 bar regulator setting will easily give me those speeds.
Sorry for any topic high jack! Except for here on the TAG, nobody is doing any experimenting with regulators.
how much volume does this prechamber have compared to the e-tc reg?
The gauge what is the thread size I damaged it is it1/8-27ntp? I’m using a blodnob valve what’s urs?
I would make one the same dimensions the regulator chamber is but this time hollow.
The chamber would have female threads on one end to adapt the condor valve and the other end of the chamber would have male threads that screw onto the regulator. (O-Ring grooves for sure to prevent any leaks)(I dont want to screw up on the LOP, so am not sure if I would go that way)
Hope I didn’t confuse you.
I am not sure on the thread size of the gauge as its assembled and I don’t want to take it apart. Just drop a line to altros and am sure he will have them in the mail for you or atleast the thread size.
Mine is the Condor High flow Valve with the stem ported OR RL Valve OR Tony One Piece Valve .
I have them swapped like a hundred times and so I just stopped making notes.
But one thing I can assure you, for the volume of air in the prechamber all those above mentioned valves would behave the same. To summarize the valves have been juiced out to its max.
You need to look for more volume of air in pre chamber or reg set to 190 bar. But then youre gonna need a larger tank which can take 4500 psi…And on and on and on…..
Its a ripple effect in the condor when you are out to modifications to achieve the desired results.
How would u go about making a larger pre chamber? I have one of these regs and it’s great.
The gauge what is the thread size I damaged it is it1/8-27ntp? I’m using a blodnob valve what’s urs?
I get 15 consistent high power shots at 60ft with an 18inch .25 barrel and the 31gr match kodiaks.(Regulator set to max)
Just too accurate at 100 yards.
Now if I were to move on to 24 inches barrel and a larger prechamber for the regulator, I am sure I would hit the 90ft mark.
But I would loose on LOP, which I dont want to compromise niether the length of the compact setup.
I am making another rig to squeze out the max power 😉
Thanks for the reply Mist! That tank and valve combo lookks like a winner! 😀
How is the performance?
Mike
Its in the making am in the early stages. It a project I am working on and soon as I have the desired results with accuracy I shall post the results.
Lack of resources are slowing my project down.
In .25 I have made 170 fpe with 89.5 gr at 925 fps. I get 1004 fps with 70.7 gr.
I have retired my .25 now to a 1800 psi reg gun. Going for quiet tack driver.
I dont want to go above .25 cal or .257 at the moment.
If my results fail in these cal then certainly I would move up the ladder.
No point in power without accuracy so my project is not gonna end soon.
Its hard for me to get access to TJ’s barrel and the moulds you folks use to choke your own heavy ammo. As time goes and once I have the right resources for the job I will keep you all posted.
Sorry for the late responses.
Have been travelling and in the process of setting up my website for Airforce Custom Spares.
Mike
Its a 400cc Tank like the one used in FX air rifles and you can fill it right upto 225bar which is what I like about it.
Post installation of the regulator the length is 1 cm shorter.
So the shorter length and the max fill would compensate the loss in 60cc from an Airforce tank.

Check with Ondrej (Altaros) if anybody knows what bottles work with his regulator and fit the AF platform, it would be him.
