Why not Blaser R8?
This has always been also my point of view….
The pcps are very accurate and fun to shoot but if we push the limits up to 100 ft/lbs, if we accept and can handle this power range, why not going directly with the real thing?
The real thing suits the dirty job better and you can have them at a fraction of the cost of a pcp.
Anyway sooner or later, if continuing pushing the power limits, also the pcps will be licensed.
Let’s say it takes a pellet at 25 ft/lbs to pierce a skull, then everything 25 ft/lbs and above potentially is a lethal weapon and it doesn’t matter if it is a firearm, an airgun or a slingshot… (IMHO)
I couldnt agree more.. the CZ 455 is a great buy and I use my CZ455 tactical almost as much as my matador..
I have pulled of many rabbit/magpie kills out to 300 yards with it.
The matador still shoots better to 100m and is better/safer for shooting smaller pests birds out of tree tops where the .22lr could send a stray bullet at 100ftlbs of into the yonder..

Supply and demand determines eventual retail price.
A product’s real price “Value” is in the eyes of the buyer. The market place will dictate final price/availability of a product.
If you want something bad enough, you WILL find a way to pay for it. That’s practically a law of physics! It applies to guns, cars, and women. You know I’m right!
As Ed famously said back in the very beginning, when people complained about his prices…”If you can’t afford it, get a better job!”
I’ve owned several Edguns in the past seven years, and I couldn’t afford any one of them. I simply owned them one at a time.
Given the way it worked out, I essentially leased the Edgun product line, one gun at a time.

CZ 455
If you want accuracy on par with a high end pcp up to 250 meter ranges then get a CZ 455.
CZ makes outstanding firearms and is in the top 3 firearm makers on planet earth IMHO.
Price of the CZ 455 is only 421 USD MSRP.
If you are happy with a tad less accuracy but much more fun then defenitely get the 10/22.
If you think it is too cheap then you can import it from Iraq, apparently there they sell it for around 10000 USD.
What can you do wrong with a 450 USD budget?
And reselling price is only 10-15% less.
There is a downside though of the 10/22 compared to the CZ 455, you have to multiply the cost for ammo by ten!
They are so much fun and magazines hold 25 rounds.
My advice, start with a small budget and if you want you can always upgrade later on.
Comon a Ruger 10/22? That’s what you give your kid when he turns 12. I mean they are fun but not up to the accuracy standards of a high end PCP. Remember compare apples to apples. For all the work you’re going to put into getting permits and other draconian rules why bother with a cheap ass Ruger? Buy something that will split cards or why bother?
Wow, that Ruger 10/22 take down is cheap! I just Read a Swedish article about it and can see why you think the Edgun Leshiy is overpriced :rofl: and it is sub 1m Long and lightweight too. Damn, must get in to PB’s at some point..
If you speak small caliber plinking/target shooting 100 meter then with a small budget you can get the CZ455 or a Ruger 10/22 in .22LR.
The Ruger 10/22 is semi-auto and they are tons of fun.
The Ruger 10/22 is like the Glock, you will find thousands of custom parts to upgrade if you want.
If you are happy with the Matador trigger then probably you will be happy also with the Ruger trigger.
I’m speaking about small budget and tons of fun.
If you speak about real small bore target shooting then as usually FWB, Anschutz, Steyr, etc will probably be your choice but honestly according to your posts I believe the semiauto plinking tool will be the most fun for you.
Personally I like the Ruger 10/22 Take Down version, it comes with a nice bag where you can store the scoped rifle, 25 rounds magazines and ammo easily and it is really a small package to carry around and we are speaking about 450 USD MSRP.
You might have seen the price of the Volquartsen pistol you liked so much, well there is a really nice Ruger Mark III Hunter for half of the price.
Holy crap, these Volquartsen guns are Beautiful!

What would be the purpose of the gun?
Rimfire…Anschutz on a match 54 action. I just got a 1727F, fortner action. I got to tell you it’s slick as butter. Germans/ Austrians don’t play when they make firearms. I also like the Sako Finfire Range but I don’t think they produce it anymore.
American rifles are some of the best on earth. There are tons of custom makers here. The Cooper squirrel model is nice, I think you pay a little more for the Cooper name but the Cooper squirrel model is really a nice little rimfire.
If you are allowed to own semi-auto rimfire then the only one I would consider is Volquartsen : https://www.volquartsen.com/
