Matador reg adjustement
A quick,dumb question: When you turn the reg adj. screw clockwise you decrease the pressure output,right? And the opposite (counter clockwise,dóh) increases it ??
Also – anyone with a rough estimate how much a half a turn increases/decreases the pressure ?? Thanks in advance! 😀

In process of what you said.
I literally dialed up 5clicks and bring my zero back to 50Y, which matches chairgun around that speed.
I also played chairgun a little, and found out velocity drop from 932 to 879 will bring down zero from 50Y to 43Y. Which means my initial zero at 50Y fishy. Only one possible explanation is that I did the zero at ramp peak without noticed, but it would not be a 53fps different.

I do use the app, but I did not find the way to get it? It is wrong to fix your zero at certain distance.
I shoot from 10-60 yards. It is the best practice to only click up from a set zero. I set my zero at around 30 yards but it can vary from 28-32 yards.
Extreme range clicking with a 20fps variation is as follows:
At 890 fps my zero is from 29-34 yards.
At 870 fps my zero is from 29-33 yards.
At ten yards @890 fps, I have to click up 96 clicks.
At ten yards @870 fps, I have to click up 94 clicks.
At 60 yards @890 fps, I have to click up 33 clicks.
At 60 yards @870 fps, I have to click up 36 clicks.
I use the previous version of Chairgun (free version) it will show me clicks, drop in inches, etc, etc.
I just worked backwards from 33 clicks to 36 clicks which is 3 clicks of 1/8″ @ 100 yards.
All my numbers above are 177 cal with 10.34 grain pellets.
From what I can see of a 22 cal JSB 18.1 grain EdGun setup I did in Chairgun.
At 870fps at 50 yards the overall drop is 6.553″
At 890fps at 50 yards the overall drop is 6.262″.
6.553″-6.262″= 0.291″ change in drop with a 20fps velocity difference.
A 10fps variance in velocity should only yield a difference in pellet poi of 0.145″ at 50 yards. If you are shooting 22cal that is about half a pellet difference in height for a 10fps drop in velocity.
The difference in drop between 43 yards (4.545″ of drop) and 50 yards (6.262″ of drop) @ 890fps is 1.717″.
Your calculation show that with a 10fps difference you are losing 1.7″ in elevation?

Hmmm . . . isn’t 3 clicks at 60 yards more like a 1/2 inch? Assuming 1/4 MOA clicks, .6*3*(1.047/4)= .47

Shit, if you have the guts to adjust your reg then why not! It’s your rifle and OG has proven it’s not that hard.
I HAVE to adjust mine, just haven’t got the guts up yet and will have to live with just over a 25fps ES until then… 😉

I do think the OP had a reg that was adjusted by someone else and he wanted to get it back to normal.
The adjusting part (getting into the reg and other internals) is not hard at all. A trained monkey can work on these guns since they are made so ingeniously simple to work on.
The hard part – or not hard but the part that needs lots of trial/error – is to find the best setting. I´m not sure a monkey could do that part before total loss of interrest … 😆

25fps ES is not acceptable. My study shows 11fps drop from 890fps makes my zero changed from 50Y downto 43Y.
My CF tank pressure is about 130bar(reg boundary), I shoot a few shots this morning at 80Y, I was seeing POIs are totally out of control, up / down.
I am going to spend a few more months and continue evaluating it and eventually I will open it up.
Once you’ve run a couple thousands pellets through it adjust HST for flattest possible string. Some people have been lucky and don’t need to adjust reg, most of us do. My R3 22 long needed its reg turned down from 12 to almost 6 to get it to 880fps and an exceptionally flat long string. It came shooting JSB 18s at close to 950fps and HST adjustment alone resulted in significant +- 40fps bell curve string. Adjusting reg is easy and gives good look into internals. Looks like your on right path.

I really want to get 880FPS with the best SD I can get.
My advice especially with .22 Standard is Do NOT touch regulator.
Shoot couple tins of pellets through it. And you will notice the gun settle.
Then all you need is a slight adjustment of HST and you will be on the money at 890-910fps with JSB 18s
Thank you vary many! I had a feeling i´m not too far off since it shoots so damned fine with very little deviation on those first 60 shots and only about 18 fps drop to following 10 shots.
I´ll borrow a chrony that can save the whole string data. My tiny Combro is good for little testing since it´s mounted by the muzzle so every shot goes thru at exactly the same place but i don´t have the needed cable to connect it to a computer. Will buy the cable though – this tinkering & tuning is suddenly half the fun in owning these guns – which i have two off .. Now i only need a good/fast spare parts supplier and life will be good.
