I have SERIOUS doubts Ed has anything to do with Kalibr/Cricket… Other than visiting their booths during a gun show.
You may as well be saying Ed created Hooligun while he was at it…
I believe all three of these major Russian bullpup builders worked on their creations in the same period of time, there may have been some cross pollination but I doubt one guy built them all… π π
It doesn’t really matter if Tony sells multiple brands. AoA, Pryamid, TGAG, SS, PAG, etc, etc, ALL retailers sell multiple brands… It’s what they do.
Crickets and EdGun actions are made and designed by different people, obviously… The stocks may be made at the same place though, which isn’t an issue since they are obviously different designs as well.
Why would there be any conspiracy or issue with Tony selling multiple brands? He may be the exclusive seller of EdGuns in the USA, that doesn’t mean he ONLY is required to sell EdGuns.
Well unless Ed has told him to do so… π
Maybe it’s not multiple brands. Maybe Edgun is the single shot which Ed wants to maintain as a single shot and not hurt his goose that laid the golden egg. He then creates a multi shot (Cricket) as a totally new brand. In essence he has created two totally separate entities both of which will enjoy separate properties and not infringe on the success of the single shot Edgun. You see, if Ed had come out with a Edgun multi-shot, many would rush to sell in order to buy the new multi-shot and that would depress the single shot Edgun market. This is not something a manufacturer would want for their existing successful lineup.
By creating a totally new product they avoid any damage to the Edgun brand and reap all the rewards of a much wanted multi-shot gun similar to the Edgun.
As a businessman and if it were me, I would have written the script the exact way I just wrote it. Brilliant job Ed!
I live an hour south of Tony who is one exit south of Kalibrguns. I was with Tony on two occasions over the past month picking up my 2 new 25 cals. Both visits were great and Tony was very cooperative and helpful. He is not a man of many words but has a dry sense of humor as do I so we got along well. Tony and his wife visited me at my home about 18 months ago to straighten out a purchase on a 22 cal I purchased back then. He’ll work with you and is quite reasonable. It was a bit of a fiasco but we worked through it.
I also bought a Cricket on one of my visits up there and am very satisfied with all my Cricket and Edgun dealings. I even bought one from Topgun-Airguns who is sending me a refund check due to the price decrease from when I purchased it from them. That’s great customer service!
As far as the packing – I believe both utilize the UPS store so that is probably coincidence.
Now if you want to talk distance – Edgun and Cricket facilities are about 600 miles apart in eastern Europe. That’s assuming they really are where they say they are. I just believe Ed is involved either as an owner or partner, etc. Ed even made a comment somewhere where he said something that only someone intimately involved in the company would say. Too many things don’t add up and other things do add up.
Oh the conspiracy theories.
I thought about this since you posted it before…

I have my own suspicions but IMHO, I think Ed is involved with the Cricket in some way. And if I’m correct, he has pulled off the ultimate coup.
That’s my 3 cents.
Here are my thoughts from a previous post:
I noticed something peculiar about my dealings with Tony from edgun and Dima from kalibrgun USA. These are just my observations and please don’t take it the wrong way.
1. Kalibrgun USA and edgun USA are only about 5 miles from each other according to google maps.
2. They both use the exact same shipping methods and package thief guns with what seems the same materials – bubbles, boxes, those “pillows” at each end of the gun bag/factory boxes.
This may be coincidental, but it did catch my interest.
I may be making something out of nothing and sorry to Dima and Tony if I am.
Not that it is a big deal. I own both. I’m happy with them but I think there is a connection. If I sold a unique product and my competitor was located a few miles away, I want to know what they were up to and maybe combine efforts to maximize marketing, importing, and profits.
What you guys think?

This FX mag is a bad idea and looks like crap not mention it would be cumbersome. Let’s face it, there is no multi shot Edgun coming anytime soon. The regular Edgun sells well. Why would anyone want to mess with that success and potentially damage the bread-n-butter lineup.
On a side note…

Thanks

I hope Ed doesn’t push out a new matador too quick…unless there are a lot more upgrades for the “new R4”. As for the rotary mag, i would just love a preview pic…other than that I don’t mind loading my pellets one at a time.
ED,
I agree with you. I have yet to see one I would except, But the one I did like was your proto type awhile back shown in one of your videos. Ok Ed itβs been some time coming and I wish you could give us some idea as to the time frame so I/we can get on the list for the .25 long with multi/semi shoot. Perhaps you will tell me to get on the list NOW for the R4! My fingers are crossed in hopes of. I know that whatever you have in mind for a multi shot is going to be impressive.
Kind regards,
Mike
I, personally, don’t like it, too simple and too protruding out of the breech π
One is never enough π
With the way everybody keeps talking about their .25 it’s making me think I should have ordered that instead of my .22 cal…I’m afraid you guys are going to make me get the .25 also
You are correct. I just got my R3 long .25 Edgun and was tempted to sell it already. It shoots excellent so I turned it down. My shooting buddy offerred $2,500 and I was so tempted but the more I shoot it the more impressed I am. Shot count is great accuracy fantastic.
The resale value AS-IS for a edgun it threw the roof, solely on the fact that people would pay the extra money to have it now than wait a year on the list. Atleast those who know what the edgun can do performance wise and how long it takes to get one

No, not including the Hooligun; just the Cricket and Edgun. It may be a stretch but believe what you will. We all have our reasons and I do mine. Time will tell.
