Q:

Mrodair Compressor In the Hose ** Updated**

Compressor Arrived today….

This is For my brother and his kids but i am gonna run it in and make sure they don’t have any problems…

Came enclosed inside 2 heavy duty cardboard boxes. When i called mike to make final payment and see what was going on he said he had a Scratch N Dent if i wanted it. So we went with it. All cosmetic. she got banged up in shipping .

ok so back to the compressor. I unpacked it all, came with some clear hoses a small pump , and a bag with some spare orings and a dead head.

its a nice looking compressor very clean and nothing hokey looking. This is the basic model with no add ons.. The Gauge surprisingly reads PSI and Bar.

So i grabbed my .22 edgun and figured i mine as well top it off.. it was at around 140 bar turned on the pump and watched the water cycle. flicked on the compressor and it brought the gun up to 220 bar pretty dam fast. I didn’t time it but it was pretty quick .

no leaks and everything seemed to work nice. There is room in this machine for improvements, like every other product out there. The Temp gauge Reads in Celsius. (I’m sure mike will be changing that)

Over all I think this compressor is gonna fill the niche at the under 1K$ price tag. sure wish this was around a few years ago when the Omega Raptor started out.

Nice and Clean design

Max temp 70c

In our testing, these run up to 56-58c and then start coming back down.

Recommended to use 5 gal of water for cooling when filling tanks and no cooling issues at all so far.
(Our upgrade setup come with one)

Without the upgrade package, we send a 6qt bolt on resivoir, for portability for filling airguns directly.

A simple 5 gal pail, with the pump dropped inside works well too.

We fill 2 tanks to 4500 back to back, with no rest between, to be sure they are up to the task with every compressor we sell.

This lets us check for loose fittings, connectors ect at the same time.

Here is a typical start to our days this week.

We did have a few, that were shipped Upside down and had some oil in the system. A simple cleaning of the poppet valve and they are back in business. This is easily accessed under the fitting on the top of the high pressure and the short low pressure cylinder.

These have proven themselves to us here at the shop, and we are looking forward to our customers opinions to make improvement in the future.

Thanks Guys

Tbear… I’m thinking it will top it off in around 10 to 12 mins….

These really aren’t meant for filling tanks but to top off I don’t think it will be an issue.

Mine doesn’t trip my breaker but I have only done top offs and filled guns…

Take 2!

Found a 20 A circuit to play with.

Started with 3000psi 88cu ft tank. Watch as temperature keep rising…to about 60C. Had to stop because wasn’t sure how high temperature should go up. Pressure is now at 3500psi, after 8 minutes. Decided I needed bigger water tank (was using about 2 gallons). Found a big old plastic containing and filled with about 6 gallons of water. Continue running compressor. Circuit tripped at about the 20min mark…reset and continued. At 25 min, tank was filled at 4500psi. Actual time a little less since I didn’t stop time resetting the circuit breaker. Temperature never went above 57C. Next test I will do continuous run from 3000 to 4500 psi. I think it can be done in 20 min. Is that consider fast?

I “upgraded” the water pump to EcoPlus 728310 Eco 396 Submersible Pump, 396GPH from Amazon. Not sure if this is an upgrade because mrodair said his pump was 800 L/min. Doing the math, that’s 12680 GPH! The pump I bought seems to be of better quality than his though. Please note that if you decide to buy this pump, the included fittings won’t fit the plastic tube provided by mrodair. I had to reuse the attachment from mrodair pump and a little workaround to make it work. Ask me if you have any issues.

Question:

1. What maximum temperature should these compressor be run at?

I sure hope the cheap china compressors work out great, and there is no problems with them at all, I think with the home 4500 psi compressors and all will be a big leap in the PCP sport and help out the sales of all the PCP guns, I am just hoping it will bring down the price of the guns and all the equipment in shooting the PCP guns in our sport.
I did buy a 4500 compressor but I was a little scared of the china stuff, I bought one made in the USA , by the guy that builds them and sells them. I did have to wait a month or more for mine to be built, I am happy with it and I think it helps out the sport more,
Just my two cents.

Please tell us more about this guy and his compressor. Price, etc.

Is there a way to turn off the temperature indicator? It’s always on.

These draw way to much to be on a 15A breaker….. Min 20A and that is pushing it…. Look at your Electrical panel find the 20A breaks and fig out what they go to …. Use that outlet.

My whole garage is on 20A breakers…..

You should have a few 20 AMP circuits in your house….. or in your garage

Dman, thanks for the advice. I’ll try to find some 20A ckts and report back.

Finally got a replacement water pump today and decided to test the compressor. First run the compressor stopped running after a few seconds, not sure why. Tried again and my circuit breaker tripped. How much amps are these compressor running? My breakers are 15A. Had the water pump on same circuit as the compressor.

The water pump they included sucks balls. It broke on me already. Already ordered a replacement from amazon. Still have not test the compressor functions yet.

Kinda funny how they are posting the “reason” (they are ensuring they work without problems) why the compressors haven’t been shipped yet (3 weeks late) and one of only 3 people who have posts that they received a compressor has already had something break…………so much for their “quality control”.

Seems like you have a beef with mrodair and trying to make him look bad. Unless you have purchased or ordered one of the compressor, u have no say in this. Let people with experience or interest in this compressor discuss. Thank you.

Wish you would have contacted us about the water coolant pump.

These were purchased from a US vendor and are covered under warranty.

Here is a short video guide to help you get set up and start using your new compressor.

Dman my black plastic oil item was placed in a little bag called “output” and did what you stated and I am good with the oil, but in other bag labeled “input,” there is a small plastic insert with some smaller o-rings (no idea where they go) that by the looks of your pic it is inserted into the water pump. Is this correct?
Thanks,
Suna
