Mrodair Compressor In the Hose ** Updated**

Compressor Arrived today….

This is For my brother and his kids but i am gonna run it in and make sure they don’t have any problems…

Came enclosed inside 2 heavy duty cardboard boxes. When i called mike to make final payment and see what was going on he said he had a Scratch N Dent if i wanted it. So we went with it. All cosmetic. she got banged up in shipping .

ok so back to the compressor. I unpacked it all, came with some clear hoses a small pump , and a bag with some spare orings and a dead head.

its a nice looking compressor very clean and nothing hokey looking. This is the basic model with no add ons.. The Gauge surprisingly reads PSI and Bar.

So i grabbed my .22 edgun and figured i mine as well top it off.. it was at around 140 bar turned on the pump and watched the water cycle. flicked on the compressor and it brought the gun up to 220 bar pretty dam fast. I didn’t time it but it was pretty quick .

no leaks and everything seemed to work nice. There is room in this machine for improvements, like every other product out there. The Temp gauge Reads in Celsius. (I’m sure mike will be changing that)

Over all I think this compressor is gonna fill the niche at the under 1K$ price tag. sure wish this was around a few years ago when the Omega Raptor started out.

Nice and Clean design

i didn’t put any in the unit. The oil is very clear. Remove the plug with the tag under it and insert the oil breather ( that black square stick out of the oil finn port)

tilt your machine while looking at the window. you should be able to see it sloshing around. If not your gonna have to get some compressor oil for it. it should be ready to go

Dman got another one for you and it is how much and what type of oil did you put into the unit? Thanks again for showing the hose connections.
Thanks,
Suna

Dman, can u post pictures of your pump connections? I don’t see a blue thimble.
Suna, I don’t think you put the pump in the tank. Use the supplied hoses. The big one is the input…

I added an air intake filter … it cuts the noise in Half…

anyhow heres them lines..

Dman,
On the unit it has this red tag saying the plug must be removed and from your pic is shows that plastic piece with OIL written on it. How much and what type of oil was used in your unit? With these flexible plastic pipes for the water how are they supposed to be used with that water box that came with the unit? The only way they can be used is by your water bucket because no way can that pump fit in it. As far as that water box goes I have no way to attach it to the unit. I sure am glad you posted the pics because that is all I have to go by due to having no instructions.
Thanks,
Suna

No trick realy…. your probably thinking the the big nipple, that is threaded is the outlet

Well it’s not

The smaller one that just slides in is the outlet. There should be a small and bigger hose…

Put the bigger one on the pump and push the other end into the blue thimble on the head. Just push it in.

The small hose just hook to the head the same way and let that just flow back into the bucket.

I used a couple zip ties to keep the 2 lines together and so the small one wouldn’t flop out.

Dman, thanks for the info. I guess you and me are the only one who has this compressor so far….
I’m going to try to use it tomorrow. Having problem connecting the plastic tubes to the supplied pump. Very tight, is there some trick to this? Please show me your set up with more pictures.

I didn’t hook up the coolant tank that he sent with it. I just use a buck of water…….

In the box with the coolant pump there was some orings and seals and a small one piece deadhead.

My gauge reads MPA and PSI ALSO…. i didn’t realize i wrote that… They are basically the same though …. 30 MPA = 300 bar.. just add a zero. i always mix them up

The moisture Separator is easy… You just crack open the little brass knurled bleeder valve and let the moisture out…. then close it. Id do it ever 3 to 4 mins…

Can u show me exactly what extra was included? I didn’t get a deadhead. Also my pressure gauge shows psi & MPa, not psi & bar.

How do you connect the coolant reservoir that was included? And how do you use the moisture separator?

Ok so i gotta a little bit of time to play with the Compressor….

My 88 CF was sitting around 3400 psi….

i documented the temp at start and stop. and i also set my step watch.

The coolant water was room temp too…. sure it would of been better to use cold water.

started off 3400 psi 60 deg (room temp) ….. at 4000 psi 130 deg … and at 4500 we were at 140

I bled off the Moisture seperator 2 x during the fill for a total of 8 min 46 sec…..

I must say this thing is fast… she fills mighty quick.

This will be going to my brothers next time i make it over there…. him and his kids will be using it to fill there guns direct…
I think its gonna be a good compressor . Guess only time will tell

Now i didn’t know this had a moisture separator but it does…

It also has a back pressure valve to assist in scrubbing the moisture

hey dman, please tell me the fitting on the end of the fill hose isn’t brass ? maybe it is just the way the pic looks ?

Being “Brass” does not make it a bad thing, as long as it’s rated for the pressure. Plenty of 5K rated “brass” fitting out there, just not sure much of the stuff from China is.

……..ok, I stand corrected, I was told a couple of yrs ago to not use brass , only SS, thank you, roger

The fill probes are made of brass

I’m not sure what the fitting is made of…

Like big tin says as long as it’s rated. …

Now there are a lot of items made of brass out there running HPA in excess of 5k psi and they are perfectly safe. I know some people love to swing that graze around about brass fitting and such but if you so a bit of research u can decide what’s safe and what’s. A sales pitch.

The gauges I use for my regulator testers made by lenz Inc. go up to 6k psi and they have brass internals…. out of around 50 + I have made I haven’t heard of one gauge blowing up.
