My AF pump can kiss my ass!
……………and right in the middle, too.
All it took was taking part in a post to GettheBlueJay where he talked about his pump being out of commission. My pump must have been reading over my shoulder from the shelf it sits on in my office and now it has decided to act like a bitch!
It is pumping to about 2,000 psi and then not increasing any higher in pressure. Kind of makes a slight air leak/hissing noise on the downstroke, which it has done a few times lately but it used to feel like all of the sudden something sealed for some reason and then I could pump to my normal fill of 2,800 psi. Now tonight, nothing above 2,000 psi. I have removed, cleaned and tightened all fittings to no avail.
What is wrong with it?
From what I have read, it may be the third stage o-ring. Is it worth taking this POS apart and trying to fix it myself with ACE hardware O-rings or should I send it back to AF on warranty and just not shoot for two weeks? Has anybody successfully fixed one of these with local parts?
Glad my new .223 will be here this week!
Any help/advice would be highly appreciated!

Change of plan on my pump.
I spoke to the lovely Rachel (no clue if she really is, but she is surely very nice) again this morning and convinced her to just send me the o-rings I need to be able to repair it myself. She also said that they are having a third-party put together a repair kit and instructions for later release to the public and that she would try to get the instructions to me as well.
On an interesting note, I asked her if they where aware that almost all dealers and owners advise purchasers to NOT BUY the AF pump, a fact she said she was not aware of. I also asked her if anybody at AF read the yellow forums or talonairgun.com forums and she said that their manager did. I also took the opportunity to tell her that although most owner’s love their SS/Talon/Condor the general consensus on the pump is that is junk and that AF would win the support of many, many owners both if they addressed it’s durability.
It seems to me that the most common issue is with the third-stage and the check valve o-rings going bad due to abrasion caused by overheating and that O-rings with a higher thermal rating or that are internally lubricated may help to resolve the issues?
I would rather take the time to figure out what is causing it so that I can fix it myself rather than sending it back to AF everytime it quits working.
