http://1drv.ms/1poH8E2 2 x 5shots 55yards, 18grain JSB, 896fps

The first one was a flier because I did barrel clean process ๐Ÿ™‚ Next shots are quite good ๐Ÿ™‚

Great

REAR Yes, it was with 18grain JSB

Glad it worked out good for you, that 896 was with 18.1s rite.

You can not beat that and I can not beat your accuracy

Wow that’s good 70 shots! Can’t beat that.

Yesterday I did a small “upgrade” I add just 1/2 turn of valve spring. Now I have one full turn after contact with aluminum retainer.
Speed set to 273mps (896fps)

Starting pressure 225bar:
225-200 – 1 mag
200-180 – 2 mag
180-155 – 3 mag
155-135 – 4 mag
135-115 – 5 mag

Total shot count : 70

Efficiency:
110bar/70shots=1,57 bar/shot

Result? ONE FULL TURN OF MAIN VALVE IS GOOD FOR EFFICIENCY !

They always read lower on your Gun gauge. The fill system needs to have a higher pressure than the vessel it needs to fill. Trust the Gun gauge (after all it’s a Wika) since it shows the pressure in the airtube and that’s the one that matters.

I’m only using it between 25-50yards, I try to avoid windy days for garden protection. My reg was set from the factory very close to yours, it was going 915 with 15.9 and 870s with 18.1s. It groups nicely with the 15.9s and I have a lot of them as my other rigs like them as well. I noticed the Kalibr Wika gauge reads 10 bar lower than my fill gauge from Joe B.

Raer do you have good results with 15grain pellets in windy condition too? Sometimes Iยดm testing also 15grain JSB but I have still doubt due to higher wind effected ?!
Iยดm shooting 15gr pellets 938fps and 18gr 896fps. When I will have some time I will try to reduce velocity for 15gr pellets to 880fps….

Finally finished and it turned out nicely, but a hair higher than my target. I’m at 882.2-888.7 avg 886 with 15.9s. I serviced the reg by replacing the o-rings and cleaning and lubing the spring stack. Took quite a few reg adjustments IIRC about six or more?, the reg resettled in lower after a week went by and I had to go back and re’adjust, @ (53.3 OAL). I was aiming for 878-885 but it’s so consistant it’s not worth messing with, plus it may settle down a little again and end up perfect. Settings are VST 1 turn, HST 1+1/2 CCW from full CW. I fired three consecutive mags over the chrony and it held a 7 fps spread an called it a wrap. Need to clean the barrel and rebuild the back stop now LOL ๐Ÿ˜‰

Octavius it looks great with 13fps es, which pellets are you using now 15.9s or 18.1s ? I’m using 15.9s and reg is adjusted for 880fps. I thought I saw a pic of your SN, mines earlier SN 0016#. Ville I’m 1/2 Finn Hei, I know about losing a little air with lighter VS setting, that’s why I’m looking for the balance point between not losing too much air and great consistancy. It’s seems to be between 1/2 and 1 turn depending on your springs and reg output setting. A 15.9 reg setting for 880fps is 12ms less than a 18.1 setting for 880, it would seem lower reg output would require lower VST. I have my .25 tuned for a flat 900fps with a very tight ES, but that is a different animal, springs are stronger VS + HS and reg is adjusted slightly higher. Zonk you don’t miss a chance to rub that target in, very very nice it must be very boring to shoot LOL

Iยดm using 18grain pellets only. I did 1/8 CCW from my factory regulator setting. I set slightly higher regulator pressure and set 900fps on HS. I have to say I did not try 15,9graims pellet now. What about try increase regulator pressure on your cricket ? Can you try CCW 1/8 and set valve spring to 1/2 turn and hammer spring try to set to 900fps? When you do it then we can compare them. ๐Ÿ’ก

Nope too small, just shooting grasshoppers……

LOL…….it is. I’m shooting it over my shoulder backwards using a mirror now…

  I bet you are, and your probably shooting ants on trees 50yds out at the same time.

You can always mix & match with different springs for both VS & HS if you have the time and nerves for it. Ernest sells sets with different HS/VS. I have my Compact shooting 60 + shots with under 3 m/s ( under 10 ft/s ) which i think is pretty good for a .177. I don’t remember the current HST but i have the Ernest heavy HS on it and the reg is set at 107 B per KalibrGun (genuine factory item i got my hands on) reg tester. It shoots at 283 mp/s with JSB Heavies 10.34gr.
