my new regulator design
Hey guys!
Im new to this forum. It is vey interesting so far, i have seen a lot of great ideas and awsome craftsmanship! this is like guns.ru only i actually understand what youre saying! 😀
Anyway, i thought i share my new regulator design with you and see what you think. Its just a quick scetch, but you get the point. From what I have read these types of regs should have almost perfect consistency, though im not sure if its really any better than others. In case you find some flaws, give it a shout!

Relay, the reg I made is functionally a paintball reg but with an adjustable valve seat for pressure adjustment.
So it is in many ways as yours conceptually
but….. the seal on the adjuster will have trouble if pressure continues to bleed up. On the typical reg the seat is hard and a leak or creep puts increasing pressure on the seal to increase shut-off forces.
Your design cannot do that.
The other weakness I see is the use of oring to slide past a high differential pressure port. That will put a beating on that oring and it may fail earlier than later.
Having said that you should build it and see where the issues are and then adapt the design to fix them.
