Q:

my new regulator design

Hey guys!
Im new to this forum. It is vey interesting so far, i have seen a lot of great ideas and awsome craftsmanship! this is like guns.ru only i actually understand what youre saying! 😀
Anyway, i thought i share my new regulator design with you and see what you think. Its just a quick scetch, but you get the point. From what I have read these types of regs should have almost perfect consistency, though im not sure if its really any better than others. In case you find some flaws, give it a shout!

Edit: How do I get the pictures to work?? 😕

Yeah that might be a problem, I dont know how long the O ring would last. I have an idea on how to get rid of this problem, but I dont have time at the moment. Maybe tomorrow.

Will there be a problem with the o-rings being nibbled when the holes pass over them? I looks like it could be a problem at high pressures.

The left side is where the tank is, the right side goes to the regulation chamber. You cant use it as it is an the AF since there still needs to be a ball valve or something like that to be able to fill the tank, also the vent needs to go. As soon as I have time I will make a metal one and test it.

How does it attach to the tank? Which end is the ‘top hat’ end?
Looks good, can’t wait to see one outta metal 🙂

So heres the final version, should be perfectly balanced!

Just to keep you guys updated, this is the second version. This time it should actually work, since the movement of the piston is limited! 🙂

I think it could be used in the AF, but in order to use it as an in tank reg u would need a ball valve in the screw on the left side to actually be fillable. 😉

Edit: Just found a flaw myself… in order to be 100% balanced i need another O-Ring which gets rid of the forcs applied to the piston from the front.

Is this reg for the AF? It’s looking d@mn g00d 😆

Because I’m trying to use solidworks to draw a much simpler part but so far no luck.

This was done in Solid Works, why are you asking?

What software are you using?
