After talking to dyotat100 and seeing the responses from everyone on this thread, I made arrangements to purchase one of Mr. Shelden’s compressors.
Thank you to Mike, Doug Noble, Michael, Dirty South and the rest of you!
I too own one of Mr. Sheldon’s compressors & highly recommend it. If you are looking to purchase a compressor I suggest you look hard at what he has to offer. I googled & watched YouTube videos for months thinking there was some way to make my own or adapt my hand pump with a motor to avoid a costly compressor. Everything I came across wasn’t going to work for me. It was only going to be a hassle, too slow or require too much maintenance or just flat out not work “right.” My compressor isn’t what I consider portable (it’s heavy), it isn’t washing machine quiet, it requires 220V & it’s not in a pretty painted case with a handle so it’s not a compressor for everyone.
Now you’re probably thinking well what’s so great about it & why should I buy one?
Here are my reasons for purchasing Mr. Sheldon’s compressor :
1. FAST: my compressor will top off my 30min scba from 3200-4500 in 7 minutes. No lie, no exaggeration. The thought of waiting hours for my tank to fill would drive me insane. NO WAY!
2. TOUGH: there are reports on the internet of these running for 30yrs plus. I can’t promise you mine will, but I have 100% faith in mine lasting me from now on. 7 minutes run time doesn’t even get the oil warm in it. There is no strain on it that I can see from personal use. This thing is a true workhorse.
3. USA: built right here by hand by a guy that truely understands HPA & what it takes to setup a great compressor.
4. CUSTOMER SERVICE: if you have a question or a problem pick up the phone & give Mr. Sheldon a call. He literally knows the compressors inside & out & can answer any question or concern you may have about your compressor.
Mike,
The compressor has everything new except the bare compressor which is a very new model.
Only needed the valves cleaned. Motor, frame, moisture trap, filter, fill whip, drive and belt guard casting are all new.
2nd one has rebuilt compressor, new motor, drive and belt guard, military and used Bauer filter on a wooden base like all the “air gun” unit I have sold.

Wow Jim, Brand new for 2500$, you gotta be kidding me, you’re getting the price to low, These compressors are the best. I top off 3 scuba tanks and 2 scba tanks in 30 mins. Michael Watson
I have two compressors that you might consider
1. a new build fully functional (for breathing air quality) 4.2 CFM to 5000PSI Kidde at $2500 plus shipping.
2 A rebuilt 4.2 Kidde for air guns using military moisture trap and used (good) filter for $1800 plus shipping.
These will fill a great white from 0 PSI to 4500PSI in 21 minutes -3000PSi to 4500PSi in less than 8 minues

The fill station is only a convenience to the field operator, so he doesn’t have to fill each tank. It really has no value to an individual with his own compressor.

Thanks! I did a little research after my last post on this thread and realized my infancy in HPA. Now I just need to find a good compressor that won’t break the bank. I’m considering the Shoebox Freedom 8 but again I’m still an infant in this game and still researching my best of options.
Do you have any suggestions? Thanks in advance!
Guys, The paint ball fill station is used by paint ball fields when they have a large number of shooters. It is a safe method to allow shooters to fill their own tanks with out the possibility to overfill the tank. The 5-6000 PSI STORAGE SYSTEM is equipped with a regulator which limits the air pressure to the filling station. Most of the fields which allow 3000PSI tanks to be filled by the customer, set the pressure at the regulator to 3000PSI and the customer can fill his tank to 3000PSI. Since the fill station only has 3000PSI input the output cannot exceed 3000PSI.
The fill station is only a convenience to the field operator, so he doesn’t have to fill each tank. It really has no value to an individual with his own compressor.

Well ad says the equipment is for PB Tanks and has to be used with a high pressure air source. I thought PB and HPA Tanks could both be filled from the same high pressure air source with maybe just a different connector needed not a whole separate add on unit for PB Tanks.
I’ve resolved to the point that I must not understand what the true purpose or nature of the PB Fill Station. Since it needs a HPA source still I decided it really didn’t matter because I couldn’t use it. That is unless the “PB”FS is simply what the chose to call it and the function is like the Freedom 8 and the HPA source needed is just a shop air compressor. Then 275.00 looks real good!
What does it look like to you?
What?
And I thought they both could fill off of the same source as long as you don’t over fill. Go figure…
LOL Dporter,
I no noting about paint ball tanks, Other than everyone in my area when I was looking for a fill station was down on paint ball tanks..
I finely got around to asking , What’s the problem with paint ball tanks, Long story short, Kids would grease up the seals to seal better,( regular grease)
Shops would fill them up and Bang. Just what I was told…
Mike
Never mind, I see now that it still needs a HPA source. Although I can’t figure out why you couldn’t just hook the PB tank to the HPA source? Learn something everyday…
What is this?
5000PSI fill station for paintball
tanks that includes the fill valve with
auto pressure drain. 5000PSI pressure
gauge and PB tank quick disconnect.
Simply attach high pressure air source
to unit and you are ready to easily
fill paint ball tanks. Price is $275.00
including UPS shipping to US, North America
I am sure you were seeing things Dporter
I got the 2.2CFM Compressor with a 2 H/P 220 vt single phase, 3450 rpm electric motor.
Fills my great White up from 3000 psi to a little over 4500 psi pretty fast, I timed it but did not write it down, So I am going say easy under thirty minutes .
I will time it next time , Closer to fifteen minutes I bet. I got a big garage and do a little piddling while its filling.
