Q:

My Vulcan

Well my Vulcan is finally coming home to me. As you’ve all watched Ernest videos, that was my Vulcan he was giving TLC to. How many other guns have gotten that much attention? The Master has done his magic now it’s time to come home to Papa….. It’s time to give the Cricket a rest.
Thanks again Ernest!

tried everything and days of adjustment and testing, I said wow theirs one thing I haven’t adjusted—–>the VS tension, the original setting was about 3 threads in on the spring retainer—–> so I back it out till no threads showing.

What does the VS stand for?

Ernest, I’ll send you some hair die, you’ll look 25 again.

It’s a little of both. Ernest contacted me and wanted to go through it again. He lowered the reg and did some new mods to it. I told Ernest no hurry as its cold and windy here. I also told him if he wanted to keep it until he was done with his mod/repair videos that would be fine with me, which he did. Over all the time went fast and now I know I’ll have a Vulcan that has been gone over from head to toe!

Zonks Vulcan gave me more gray hair then any others;

took me awhile to finds that drop in speed —–> like it would shoot in the 890 for a while then drop to 850 or so then back up to 890 did that for every mag string.

1st mag through the crony all in the 885-891—-got excited with joy, but didn’t want to get to excited so I shot 3 complete string with no drop in speed before the adjustment. also notice I was getting 74-77 shots per 205b fill—wow didn’t remember it was shooting that much shot per fill—-I though it was in the 50-55 shots.

I had the vulcan to long and wanted Zonks to test her long term. just takes to long to shoot over 70 shots per fill. I didn’t see the drop in speed in 250+ shots—-> good to GO!

:rofl: some things are better left alone

Well I’m not ready for our shootout now 👿

My REG is out on the kitchen table while I learn how to use Jaime’s Vulcan REG Tester.
The Reg Tester works great but I’m going by Ernest’s Cricket REG video and cutting corners where I know better.
I’m addicted to taking things apart.

Man that’s about time. So give us a run down why it got two trips to Ernest. What was done to fix it. Or did you send it to him to do the videos? BTW glad it’s coming home
