Q:

need air

been gone awhile, but Im back, Ive been shootin my talon on co2 for years, but ive been checking into a jds tank and reg, that got me checking on available air, the only local dive shop closed a couple years ago, the huge oilfield diving buisness is to scared to charge private air bottles because of tight Gov regulations, so I need some positive thoughts on pumping, and exercise is not a positive, shooting on co2 is a free for all, but I would need very strict shot count if i would pump, Im not old just a little lazy, what are some other air sources besides the fire dept. thanks guys

true true, i’ll be needing that extra power for rodents, big nutrias down here

Both of my local fire houses are happy to fill my 2 SCBA tanks up. The Fire Cheif says that “It is good public relations.”

I got a Shoebox about a year ago and with free air just a couple of min away, I have been too lazy to hook it up.

If your tank has a current Hydro, check with your local fire house. Take them a box of doughnuts or a pound of coffee once in a while and I bet they will fill it.

And remember a PCP running less than 100% still has legs. Your co2 runs about 900psi. Imagine the Talon running 1800psi down to 1100psi before recharging. You’ll have better performance than co2 without the temp sensitivity. These AF guns are versatile.

true, lower psi just pump up more often, would really like the year round use of the talon, might get a hill pump.

There is the shoebox compressor. Also consider a 2000 psi gun or tang your gun to 2000-2200psi as pumping to those pressures is much easier.

I personal have started moving away from high pressure rifles for target and linking and instead rely on CO2 or single stroke pneumatics.

Good luck!
