Q:

Need alittle Bullpup advice

After a short hiatus from PCP’a, I am back. I need some input from you guys and I know how easy it is to spend someone elses money. Spend away!!

I am looking for a bullpup to shoot in a very urban area, thank goodness for privacy fences. Alot of my shooting will be punching paper at 75 feet with the ocassional shooting of turtles and whatever. I am leaning towards the Mutant Shorty, I hear it is pretty quiet. Am I thinking correctly??

Also, regarding the Mutant, I see them in black and the lovely brown, such a fine looking piece of wood. Anyway is there any differece in the stock other than the color??

Thanks in advance for your input.

Having number two outside at -42C is a rather interesting experience :angrymob: It’s not the eyebrows that get frost.

Been ( almost since it was only in mid – 30’s ) there a couple of times when i did my Military service in Finland. Holy Crap – literally.

I vote the Mutant Short. Aside from less than 23 inches (584mm) in length, it cocks with no issues, and loading the magazine is about as easy as it can get. Everyone agrees it has a great trigger, and with a genuine CZub barrel, the accuracy within your shooting distance will never be an issue. As has been said the gun is very quiet, especially so if you turn the power down. Spare magazines won’t break the bank either. I’ve owned an Edgun R3M. It’s a very good gun, but it’s not as easy on an owner as the Mutant (Short) is. It’s not as compact either, and I wanted a more compact bull pup.

Try boiling some water and throwing it out when it is that cold, make it snow 😉

Hemn – you need to come over to Southern Sweden in late May – late August. Between 20-30 c and we have daylight from 4AM – 10PM.
You’d like it. Green as in Irish Hell too 😉

-30 centigrades is for Pussies and Arkansanians :hoot: . We get down to -40 centigrades sometimes. Not here in Southern Sweden though but farther up North.

OH,,, really bothering me when i will be in the winter with raining and snowing, however we hardly face -1 or -3 for few days , i know our weather in winter far better than yours in Sweden or Finland or other European countries … PAPA Ville .. i heard sometime you will face -30c isn’t it?

Just be aware it’s rear loading bullpup. You can’t reload while looking through the scope unless you have unnaturally flexible limbs. Front loading bullpups are becoming the main stream of offering as of today.

Thanks everyone for your input. I can always count on you guys to help me spend my money. What are friends for??

I need to take a closer look into those damn Mutants. You guys have made me curious.
I hardly shoot PCP’s at the time , except for Vermin disposal , but soon enough it’s winter and the indoor season kicks in. It will be PCP – time again !

My vote goes for a Cricket Compact .177. A .177 is more than enough for confined space shooting – the stuff you talk about.
It will , with ease , take care of them Turtles too. :tag:

Spoken like a man with some common sense.

For plinking inside of 50 yards and noise is of any concern a .177 can’t be beat. Shot count would be endless. I’m not sure I’ve ever read anyone having a .177 Matador but given the option of a Cricket Compact .177 vs a Matador Short .177, I’d pick a Cricket 9 times out of 10. If a Mutant Short .177 was in the mix, it would be no competition the Mutant Short .177 would reign supreme.
