Q:

Need alittle Bullpup advice

After a short hiatus from PCP’a, I am back. I need some input from you guys and I know how easy it is to spend someone elses money. Spend away!!

I am looking for a bullpup to shoot in a very urban area, thank goodness for privacy fences. Alot of my shooting will be punching paper at 75 feet with the ocassional shooting of turtles and whatever. I am leaning towards the Mutant Shorty, I hear it is pretty quiet. Am I thinking correctly??

Also, regarding the Mutant, I see them in black and the lovely brown, such a fine looking piece of wood. Anyway is there any differece in the stock other than the color??

Thanks in advance for your input.

my bro,…. however you haven’t mentioned any Matadors, but i would recommend to you a shorty .22cal Edgun with an Edgun scopes also, i have Edgun short, so i can talk about it…

You can not go wrong with the Mutant shorty , And water turtles you will be taking at least 30 to 40 yard shots, Unless you are shooting them out of your aquarium in the house,
About the only way you could go wrong is If the UPS truck runs over it or you drop off the roof while unboxing it,,,

Yeah I think the Mutant will be plenty quiet. I am cautious about the time of day I shoot also. I don’t shoot if I know there are people outside in their backyard. Thanks for your input.

I have an R9 .22 and it is quite a bit louder than my Short Mutant .22 stock.

You can drop the fps down around 730/720 and it pretty quite. I shoot my shorty around 750 and my neighbor says he can’t hear it. There’s a 6ft privacy fence between us.

That’s what I was thinking about making it more quiet. Being said, I shoot my 22 cal R9 quite a bit with no problems…………..yet.

Remember, you can always get them moderated further with a custom add-on LDC so noise should not be an issue.

Given your environment and shooting distance, I would suggest a .177 if you want quiet and only intend to shoot at 50 yds or less. A Mutant Short .177 would be ideal but who knows when it will come to fruition. A Cricket Compact .177 would be a great alternative but goodluck finding one. If you contact Tony and get on a wait list, you might get lucky. A Mutant Short .22 isn’t exactly backyard friendly in such confined space but may work.
