Q:

Need help building .25 Condor Squirrel and below rifle

I want to build a .25 Condor Squirrel rifle with an 18” Shrouded barrel with possibly an e-TaCREG regulator. I mainly want it for squirrels at 45-50 yards so accuracy is my biggest concern. The next concern is noise. I would also like something more compact than a 24” shrouded barrel to carry in the woods to hunt and clean up squirrels around my deer stands. My primary target would be Squirrels, Crows and below. I may only see one or two coons a year so I don’t need a huge amount of coon killing power and would rather trade off a lot of energy for something that shoots flatter but can still anchor a squirrel with an upper body hit. Any suggestions or stats on a .25 cal. Condor with an 18” barrel or other ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Looking good Ken!!!!

Thanks, I call it the Hoe Handle. The fore grip is an ADG Angled Fore Grip mounted on a standard pictanny rail adapter. This one is the AFG1. There is a bigger one called the AFG2. Albert in E Tx set me up with it but they are easy to find. The Camo is just Hunters Specialty Tape in Realtree AP HD. I took a razor and trimmed it out after I put it on. I carry it through the yard and the neighbors never ask about it. It looks more like a garden tool under my arm than a Black 50 cal. AR. The long front end looks like a hoe handle now that its camo’ed. It’s my favorite garden tool!

i really like that front grip/picatinny rail. where from? also, who did the camo job?

I’m finally setup with a Condor and started whacking Squirrels. If I didn’t want to upgrade to a .25 an SS would have been ideal and might still be. I really don’t need a .25 but this Condor is keeping me up at night just begging to be a .25. Thanks for the Help

I have a .25 18″ Condor. With a 6″ shroud it’s damn quiet. I shoot .25 JSB’s at 880-910-880 over 30 shots for small game. I can get 50 shots with in 50fps and at 30 yards and under much a anything that walks in the US could get it with the right shot. They hold up to wind way better than the .22’s if that’s a concern. I average 5 x .5″ groups at 50 yards all day with them. I would like to the try the predators but haven’t yet.

maby just a tin of predators in 5,5 might be the awnser

HP,

I purchased the add on weight from AirForce. It goes behind hammer, between the hammer and the power wheel.

My Talon ss was in 22 cal with standard flow valve originally. When I ordered my 25 barrel I also purchased a tank with the hi-flo valve. I think I will try to locate a hi-flo valve for my other tank, as I don’t think I’ll be changing back to 22 cal anytime soon.

JD

That’s the kind of numbers I would like to be getting out of mine. I don’t know if mine has the hi-flo valvw or not? I saw those rings, where do they go? In front or behind the hammer?

HP,
I might add, I mean added the stock hammer weight(ring) to my hammer.

JD

HP,

I’m getting a 15 shot avg of 885 fps with king’s, PW 7-7 with 3000 fill. This is with a Tss in 25cal with stock hammer weight, stock hi-flow valve with a 12″ barrel.

Sounds like a 22 Mag with the end cap off, but with a few washers, copper spacers and a spring added inside the shroud and with a vented front bushing it’s pretty quite. A medium level puff sound when standing down range. Hope this helps.

Whistler, Sounds to me like you need to do some “Pimp Hand” Exercises. Toughen that thing up a little, whether it be from 12 oz curls, Rubbing one out or slapping the wife and kids….A man needs to have a strong “Pimp Hand” ready to go at a moments notice!!!

Although I know personally I probably don’t use it as often as I should… I can actually imagine/visualize using it all the while keeping a straight face when being verbally assaulted by my wife 😉

Harry, please don’t post those kind of pictures without a “graphic” warning. I opened up this thread and am now traumatized from seeing poor little creatures of the forest that have been assassinated by you. I don’t care whether you ate them or not, seeing those gory pictures made me cry.

On top of this traumatizing event, I am already suffering a severe finger sprain from slapping my wife around. I was going to smack her a good one when she moved and her hard head dang near broke my finger. I was wondering, do you think I should file a police report on her just to have it down on record how she hurt me?

😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 🙁

with 12″ barrel (Stubby) or the Condor with the 18″ barrel?

SECoda, What kind of Fps are you getting with either of those Valves? I am looking to add a little zip to my TSS with a .25 12in barrel, right now I am pushing JSB Kings out around 720- 750 fps peak with a stock valve… would like to be closer to 900 fps if at all possible

I have my Condor setup with an 18″ .25 barrel and huge R&L shroud. I have a std hi-flo tank setup and a modded R&L Extreme valve tank setup. No Etac. You have to decide the power/noise tradeoff – even with a shroud. The Extreme valve does 100 fpe but is louder. The hi-flo is in the 50s with the stock tune and is extremely quiet.
