Need help building .25 Condor Squirrel and below rifle
I want to build a .25 Condor Squirrel rifle with an 18” Shrouded barrel with possibly an e-TaCREG regulator. I mainly want it for squirrels at 45-50 yards so accuracy is my biggest concern. The next concern is noise. I would also like something more compact than a 24” shrouded barrel to carry in the woods to hunt and clean up squirrels around my deer stands. My primary target would be Squirrels, Crows and below. I may only see one or two coons a year so I don’t need a huge amount of coon killing power and would rather trade off a lot of energy for something that shoots flatter but can still anchor a squirrel with an upper body hit. Any suggestions or stats on a .25 cal. Condor with an 18” barrel or other ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Thanks for the responses. Keep the pictures coming they are impressive. Here is more going into the design…. I have a tree that is 50+ yards out that borders my property. There is a high fence that runs under the tree that divides the property. So part of my wanting a .25 besides hearing a loud woomp when I hit one is to get a higher percentage of instant kills and keep grey squirrels from running another 10 feet and then dropping over dead on the other side of the fence. My neighbor is really nice and thinks its great that someone is keeping the squirrel numbers down because they are out of control but she doesn’t want to see it or hear about it. I respect that. So in her honor I think I should get a .25.
Now the other neighbor is mad to just get up in the morning so I need to go stealth as not to bother him because he is just looking for problems. I also live in a cove on the water so every noise and conversation is amplified. And everydog a mile away starts barking when I pull the trigger on the Blue Streak and big Blue is out of gas after 40 yards. So a shrouded .25 PCP maybe the way to go and if I get a chance to roll a coon all the better. This may be way too much information but it’s what’s going into this rifle and sometimes you just need to know.
I don’t know about Flat, but my TSS with a 12 inch .25 barrel anchors just about everything i shoot with it. from Squirrels to Skunks to Coons. with a stock valve and my power wheel cranked up I am lobbing JSB 25.4 kings at about 750fps and with my 6 in. Subssonic Shroud on the front of it, the neighbors don’t even notice the noise. It has anchored everything I have shot at…providing I hit it 😆

Thanks for the response Roachcreek. I have shot a .22 for years and I am in total agreement with you. Its just the idea of moving up to a 25 gets me excited again and I want to play with one. A short TSS would be nice to pack around.
I thought if I’m going to buy a frame to build on it may be better to get a Condor Frame. Can a TSS throw a .25 that flat with a 12″ barrel and standard valve? I was hoping to get around 900 fps to flatten the trajectory but Im open to a TSS or any configuration as long as I can keep the barrel at 18″ or less. Thnks
I am a big fan of the 25, but for what you describe, a 22 SS with a frame insert would be far cheaper and far quieter. A 25 Condor has a bigger hole and a much larger volume of air trying to get out so it is harder to silence.
Squirrels really don’t need the kind of power your talking about, and elevated shots on birds and squirrels are safer down range with a 22 or smaller caliber.
By all means get a ETAC reg for it for more consistant accuracy.
Having said that, for the money for a 22 ss and ETAC reg, you are close in price to a used AA S410 SLR FAC carbine in size and power and with the AA you have a magazine and far greater accuracy potential. The AA would be a tad bit louder, but in the woods it is negligable.

Condor has a boatload of power, .25 is WAY more potent than .22…to get a condor down to where regular pellets aren’t over the top, is usually the challenge….especially considering you have concerns about your neighbors, I don’t see how you aren’t going to get complete pass thrus on 50 yard shots…
