Q:

New .22 Vulcan arrived today!

IT’s HERE!
This thing is nice. Everybody says the build quality is top notch, and I totally agree. Holding it just feels right. Wife and kid are out of town, so I’ve got the whole weekend to myself to get some lead through this thing. I’ll be mounting my big Hawke Sidewinder 6-24 on it.

Key, stop rubbing it in!! :whoop:

Congrats on the new gun. I have peter’s shroud on mine and it is pretty quiet for a short .25. In the .25 caliber the Vulcan is peerless for it’s size and power.

quote jfrazier30:

I’m shooting JSB 18.1’s at 895 fps.
And suprisingly, it shoots Crosman Premier hollow points REALLY accurately at exactly 1000 fps.

…and from pressure ?

I’m averaging bout 915 fps w 25.4gr Kings
About 825 fps w 34gr JSBs :8:

77 shots for a .22 and 50 shots for a .25. Those are all impressive numbers. What speeds are you shooting so we can get an idea of power/shot count?

I have the .25 and was going with a falcon menace 5.5 – 25x 50 mm with the illuminated b20 reticle however it weighed a ton which was a huge factor in my decision to go with my MTC Viper connect in 3 – 12 x 32 mm the gun is much easier to handle and I rarely need more than 12 x zoom when hunting. As far as the Balkans performance goes I totally feel you although mine is .25 I still get 50 massive shots before any point of impact shift I also took the gun completely apart to attach a rail for my bipod and put it back together successfully with no point of impact shift I was stunned I totally love this gun! Looks like there’s a lot of happy campers out there too

I haven’t weighed it yet, but it’s certainly a handful.

The laser is on a quick release, and I only use it at night when hunting racoons and skunks. (which is so much fun BTW!) The scope is a Hawke Sidewinder 6-24 that came off my FX Boss that I sold to purchase the Vulcan. I love this scope, and don’t expect that I’ll ever sell/trade it.

The Vulcan really surprised me yesterday… I shot 77 rounds on a single fill. (7 mags). From 250 Bar down to about 120. The POI never shifted. I’m not sure if I could have shot more… but, I had seen enough! I am amazed by this gun.
😀

You got a massive scope on that thing plus a light. You must be doing some serious long range or low light shooting. How much does your setup weigh?

First day on the job, and already 3 dead squirrels. This gun is a laser beam.

If that’s all he has in pellets he won’t have enough to shoot sparrows……

JF looks like you have it all dressed up. Now go shoot some sparrows

I think it’s 26.5″ long. If Ernest would of kept my Vulcan one more day he would have done the mod to it for the ping. My Cricket is whisper quiet, and quieter yet with Donny’s SOS.

How long is it?

THIS GUN IS BACKYARD QUIET!
I am shocked at how quiet it is. I have been shooting my silenced Marauder Pistol for a few years, and I am thrilled that this new Vulcan is even QUIETER!
Peter did modify the shroud. I have no idea what any other Vulcans sound like, but this is awesome! There is ZERO obnoxious “pinging”. I have my scope and bipod mounted. Tomorrow will be a busy day sighting and shooting.
