New .22 Vulcan arrived today!

This thing is nice. Everybody says the build quality is top notch, and I totally agree. Holding it just feels right. Wife and kid are out of town, so I’ve got the whole weekend to myself to get some lead through this thing. I’ll be mounting my big Hawke Sidewinder 6-24 on it.

e – I’m glad you weren’t sitting in your truck while taking out those pigeons. How old is your .25 Vulcan? Did you get it from this latest shipment or have you had it for some time now?

Thanks for the feedback. My .25 Vulcan is about the same loudness as my .25 Edgun R3M – but what’s noticeably different is that the Vulcan definitely has a loud ping to it. I think the ping makes the Vulcan sound louder than it really is and if you could reduce/eliminate that ping, it would be quieter than the Edgun. I’m just curious what this new piece is that supposedly quiets the ping, where we can get it from, how much it costs, and how easy it is to install.
I was out shooting pigeons today and I shot them all while NOT sitting in my truck and will also say 25 Vulcan is pretty quite. I will add though 22 cricket is near silent comparing the 2.
Honestly my .25 is damn quiet after Peters shroud mod. . I have nothing to compare to bit I was expecting considerable ping from all the reports and all I know is my ping does NOT bother me any it’s not anything that jumps out and I am very satisfied with the quietness of the .25 .. maybe not as quiet as my .25 WAR marauder pistol Carbine but that thing is strictly mechanical click and skull Crack …I would not let fear of ping discourage purchase that is for sure.

If you have to tell them what they want to hear. Grap the money and hope for the best. You can always fall back on plausible deniability. Eventually someone may fix it or the disappointed customer will move on.
What I’m saying is if the sorce of the info is not the manufacturer…it’s a crap shoot!
Throw in the nature of a salesman that is taught TRICKS of HOW TO CLOSE A SALE…
But I’m just the dummy in the room that has heard it all before. Sometimes it all works out.
This question is for you, FamilyMan and anyone else that just got a Vulcan from the latest batch that is supposed to have the depinger added – is the ping really gone or substantially reduced?
My local buddy and I both just picked up .25 Vulcans that were from the May/June shipment and, while great rifles, the ping is definitely very noticeable. Petr states on his site that we should be able to retrofit the piece to earlier Vulcans to get rid of the ping but my texts and calls to Petr haven’t been returned.
Would love to get some insight from owners of this latest batch on the ping.
