Q:

new 9mm beastly build

started this the other day . 1/4 the way done an everythiung seems like it will be good .
27” 9mm barrel , .375” valve opening with two .26 inlet holes an .312” at the pellet end , with .700” open air around it . not sure what pressure i’ll use , but when i find a good spring i’ll figure it out .
had fun making the angled bottle connector , i made the bigger thread on a lathe , then clamped it in a vise with the top angled at about 15 deg’ . then used a bolt hole program set at 90 hole in 360 degrees . then just left the cutter down an advanced to each of the 90 numbers . it worked well after clearing the bulk away first .
hope to finish it soon .

Anymore updates or pictures on this build?

got some slugs made , sights working well . about .6” ctc at 42 feet an hitting 1 ” low . or 1.3 higher then barrels if the sights were parallel.
which im hoping that since the sights are 2.3” higher then the barrel that the slug will hit 1”high at 80 feet then drop about about 2” at 50meters . then maybe i’ll only have to aim 7-8 ” high at 100meters .
i’l find out tomorow . 🙂

as i assumed the heavy spring is a bit weak , i can make it bottom out an get a little more from it i think.. but my gun will stay under 175bar i think til i find better spring steel
@ 180bar the 124g slug was blazzing at 98f/s 🙂
after some dry fire it opend up , at around 160bar it opend the valve a bit better 124g slug@ 740f/s , the next shots didnt regester but was louder ,,, so i assume faster after a few i got in the 600f/s an the chrony worked again , need to make more slugs ,,,,,, an hope i can get 850f/s . was hoping for 900:(
sights almost done , an grips starting tomorow .

i first thought wtf , …..
now i will say ” i need some ideas for wood for the for stock an grips” .

gun is done all but wood ,
the light spring is to light even at <1800psi ( sounds realy strong but not enough) .
an i worry at 2400+psi the heavy may be to light . guna test tonight for speeds on the chrony .
🙂

need some ideas for wood now .

almost ready to test it an clean it up , still figureing out what the front stock will look like , an planing on reducing some bulk of the metal .
this is the gun with spring 0.078” beside it .
also a quick picture of my valve stem /seal . the delrin is held by a bolt threading into it an into the valve stem body .
once the bolt is tightend an the seal is cut to the right size while on the stem , then it can be put in the gun , bolt an delrin from the back an stem/tophat from the front .
air fitting is on the other side of the gauge , drilled a hole straigh through just under the main valve area , about a 1/4” hole cut through to the valve air. , which also gives a little more air right under the valve seal .

so if i understand right i can use my breech(if lubricated) as an extra hammer weight

hammer is the breech .the hammer has the orings in it, one on each end . and it is solid end to end around the barrel . when you cock the gun you are sliding the hammer back by attached bolt ( in the pictures above) . my barrel an top hat are the same size , an the hole through the hammer is just slightly bigger ( snugg fit) .
the stuff must be oiled well for it to slid perfect with out messing the orings up ,,, but it is good for 100’s of shots on little oil. an all AG’s should have a lil oil.

it’s the same as the condor but remove the hammer and make a heavy breech that fits the inside of the frame an on the barrel tight .

can you please post a clear picture of how it works without a breech?

got almost all the gun done 🙂 . needs some wood , grips , forstock , an but . and ………..maybe test it….

the spring wire i got was .066” an .078 . made up a few springs not sure what i will end up using .
the spring has a 0.63” id , so it seems a little slinky with the .066” the ,078” seems to heavy .. …. both springs have to be short to fit, only about 3” almost bottomed out when compressed
my hammer is only 130grams an travels 1.6” . but no breech to move an for now only guna run it on 2000psi.

find out soon if i have a clue .:)

Jez, sounds good. You are winding that spring yoreseff?

how thick a wire? 0.080″ tips please if you are 🙂

Was not happywith the air consumption so made a new stem for the 9mm
trying a bit different approach to the feed ports to increase the pressure feedback. See what it shoot like tomorrow 🙂

Walter….

sounds good ,900+ with a 124gr is about as high as i hope for .
cant wait to see if ya can hit anything . lets hope

i just got my spring wire today , so im hopeing to have the spring made tonight . top rail was finished last night aswell as all the hole drilling for bolts .
wont be long now 🙂

Jez, shot the 9mm a bit today. 905fps with 124 grain hard cast.
velocity dropping from there. Need to spend some time tuning.

.360 roundbll breaks 1000fps with ease.

Accuracy after tuning 🙂

Walter….

Nice work jezx, got any in semi-auto?
