New brother for the R2.5
And he was already in for a couple weeks, but first wanted to test shoot it…
Next to my R2.5 Eddy, here is my new R3 SuperEd!
It’s the .22 standard and I will try to produce even better groups then with my R2.5 (if possible π )
Some pics say more then 1000 words:
And some first groups at 110 yards or 100m (remember, these are the first groups, SuperEd hasn’t had got more then 200 pellets!!!!!):
and lol:
Thursday I go back to the range and try to get good groups again, but also try to shoot as many pellets as possible π
Let the gun settle in!!!

Hello koljo
Your software pulldown, on the right side of your picture.
What software is that, Looks like a chairgun pulldown, but I could find no such screen.
If it is chairgun, where is that screen?
Nice shooting, Nik!
I took my Lonestar barreled R3 25 long out to the 100 yard range to sight it in and get some muzzle, 50 and 100 yard fps data for Chairgun. I was worried about it getting too dark for the chrony to work so, I wasnβt worried about groups. After the crony work, I adjusted the scope twice and shot one last 5 shot group.
I then set the 9, 7mm Mauser shells up and shot them. You can see the sight in shots in the video that I took. The first 2 shots were high and to the right, I adjusted the scope too far to the left for the next 3, adjusted it again and shot the .553β. 3 went in one ragged hole then, 2 fliers. I didnβt measure it until a couple of days later. If I had paid attention to it that night, I would have tried some more groups. It is probably just as well that I didnβt shoot any more groups. I donβt think that I will ever beat a .533!
After seeing your group, I tried to upload mine to Photobucket and post it here. Photobucket is either down or busy as hell, I couldnβt get it to upload.
And not even you Ed? You should know better :))!!
I’ll post groups when I have them photographed..
I do believe and I’ve seen even better results from my gun π but if would be nice to win the competition.
Ed
IΒ΄m a believer!!! but also VERY curious!!!
Winning the comp… the strawbery of the cake! π π π π
Hi Kazzz,
I own the latest R3 from Ed too but we have to beat the result below, achieved with a BSA Lonestar (which I luckily also own), to win a 100 m competition:
Good Luck!

Kazz,New gun is shooting great and not even broken in yet! π
Are you shooting 15.9`s ? Did you consider a long version?
Good luck in your next competition.I think Ed should post some 100m
groups π I have no doubt they`d be good.Ed do you have a favorite
gun? regards,mark
Practice and competition: 2 different worlds π
But I did it before, so try to do it again!!
Win the next competition and we’ll believe you! π

Yesterday was confirming day π
I’ve shot around 200 pellets and.. they all went into the same > 1″ hole at 110 yards!
It’s incredible.. When I have 1 pellet in the 9 it’s due to the bad pellet or me!!! I can tell 100% sure it’s not the gun.
Friend of me did almost the same.. He is a very good shooter too and all pellets were in the 10 ( max 3cm or little more then 1 inch).
I’ve shot 2 groups of 5 shots with a ctc of less then 10mm (or 0,39 inch)!
And this already after < 500 pellets!
me is verrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry happy!!!!!
ps. I’ve noticed Ed rounded the edges of the end of the stock (buttplate) of the later R3’s better then the first. Those were quite sharp!
Only after the first 1500 – 2000 shots I will start looking if accuracy improves by turning down.
But with these results and knowing the gun has to settle, I don’t think turning down will give that better results.
I just don’t want “a flyer”..
PS. OG, the anti gravity room is pic 1 π
Congrats Kazzz! And Good luck with it! π
Do you think you’ll dial it down a little when you set it up to compete? I’m currently shooting right around the same fps out of my R-3. I’m waiting on a part from Tony still π and, once I get it I’ll be able to fine tune a little.
Gringoloco – you got yourself a real nice gun! Good luck with it! π
Thanks all!
I will you guys keep up to date, no worries!
@OG: better then R2.5? At the moment the same π
@OG and Zoco: trigger is ok, light and crisp, but not as light as my R2.5. It is more predictable though because it is 100% always the same.
@Zoco: bolt is a little heavier then R2.5 but no harsh or scrubbing feelings π
@all: I’ll post some pics of shooting range thursday π hope to do a scope Cam maybe too!
Chrony results were very pleasing:
Aprox. 65 shots between 921 and 929 fps.
58 shots were between 922 and 925.
This from 190 to 110 bar π

At the moment very pleased with the EdII.
Only one point (but that had the R2.5 too) is the problem to clean the barrel properly.
I do not like the fishing lines. I prefer using a good boresnake or even a good brush, but it’s simply not possible without removing the breech. And that is the big problem. The treads of the screw in the breech are not that good and will eventually break, so you cannot tighten the screws anymore π
