New High Performance Quick Change Tophat From TalonTunes
I have been working on this for a while and am pretty happy with the results.
It is a one piece high perfomance tophat with restrictive inserts….
The tophat alone will add another 30-50 fps to your Condor
But when you don’t need all that massive power and want to shoot your favorite lighter pellet, screw in one of the two size restrictors….
This is from an off the shelf new Condor filled to 3000psi.
Power wheel on 10.
Pellet is .25 JSB King
Should be able to get better with some tuning and tweaking.

I think if we eliminate the first 10 shots of the string and continue shooting past shot 32 you will see a real nice bell curve.
I do have a third insert but that brought the velocity in mid 600 fps range with JSB’s and I thought that you would not be interested in that low of a velocity.
The tophat has flats on it for a 3/8 inch wrench.
The set screws take a 1/8 hex wrench.
The tophat and two inserts are $75.00…I have a few left.

I’m not sure what hammer weight and spring loads you’ve tested with but that looks like a max flow valve with relatively little wall thickness between the ports and seal. That makes me think about those other valve stems we’ve seen that could not take the pounding of heavier hammers…
Assuming you were to rate this stem for max performance (as in unlimited class, LOL), it might be a boon for those guys that don’t like to make a lot of adjustments or do tuning with a chrony.
I’m always getting emails from guys that want to shoot JSBs and slugs three times heavier interchangeably (sp?). The strings you posted seem to indicate that might be possible with the insert being the only “adjustment” required! Of course, a gun set to max preload and with a heavy hammer will beat on the stem just as hard regardless of the insert being in or out.
Anyhow, it’s nice to see another product coming to market for the modifier!
I applaud Tony for applying what most of us recognize as an old idea to a relatively new and popular platform, documenting its usefulness, and having the balls to offer to mass produce it 💡

In the case of the vulture it runs all the possible calibers with choked stems as required.

tapping the inside of the stem so a grub screw can be screwed in and drilled through is an excellent way to alter the power without having to strip the gun, i use stainless steel grub screws because there ready available and can be drilled easier than the hardend black steel ones. i also make a piece of stock bar tapped out so the grub screws can be screwed in so anybody with a drill could drill their own holes in the gub screws to suit their power needs, as you can see from the picture this can be done in either big bore or standard bore valve stems because theres plenty of metal in the breach end of the top hat/ stem .

Harry pair, that is what we call a bell curve, and adds a lot more shots in a useable range. What you “DON’T” want is for the shot string to drop from shot one. Sounds like you have a bit of tuning to do my friend! 😉 🙂

Two words FUCKING AWESOME!!!! In my .25 it was shooting 31.02 gn Baracuda at 950-980 fps thats around 75 FPE then i put the smallest insert in my .22 and was getting 700-715 fps using 14.3gn CPHP its like having a standard micro and hiflo valve all in one Thanks Tony Videos soon to come
