Q:

New R3M arrived today…I already f’d up! :(

Hey I’m just recycling this thread I posted last week….I received my Matador R3M today…got to shoot a few mags, Really nice! Anyway I wanted to take it apart and have a look see. I got the stock off…no problem.. Then I was gonna remove the trigger assembly. Well you know those 2 screws near the muzzle end? VERY TIGHT! I got one loose but I couldn’t get the other…I tried a little balistol…no joy…wd40…no joy. I finally managed to strip the head 😳 It even twisted my 2.5mm allen wrench! Any suggestions? I’m thinking I have to drill them out…?

Don’t you hate that? Missing out on the stuff you pass by? Let us know how it performs…for some reason I feel I need at least 24 magnification and I probably miss out on a lot of good scopes! I saw your pics on your new year thread…very nice collection my friend! I’m also a fan of your beenie!

I got one of the .22 shorts from Tony recently and it is as much a favorite as either of the other two. I really enjoy the lite feel of it tossing it around and shooting off hand.

Not starting any scope wars here cause I am a Hawke fan but I ordered a 4-16 side focus varmit series for mine and was very disappointed. I have the sidewinder 30 6-24’s and love them. But on the recommendation of another airgun friend I ordered a Bushnell Legend HD 3-9×40. It is awesome in comparison for this smaller frame gun, lighter shorter, brighter and the side focus goes down to 10 yards instead of 15, just perfect in the yard with a .177 or .22 I am ordering another next week to put on another gun I have. Amazon $183.00 feee shipping with prime. Just an opinion, as I study things a good bit and had unfortunately overlooked these scopes.

Oh yeah I have a Cricket BP and carbine to pass the time. I enjoy shooting them both. Hopefully they won’t collect dust when the matador arrives.

Variety is the spice of … shooting. Once you shoot a Cricket for awhile, your standards for accuracy go up. The Edgun will meet or exceed those standards.

Congrat….Btango05 on your new R3M .22
You’ll be happy with it

Congrats on the Edgun-in-waiting! You’ll love it. Built like a tank and super accurate. I’m still trying to get my FX Royale 500 to perform like the Cricket or Edgun, maybe a lost cause, but the bullpups are wayyy less hold sensitive and they take to numerous resting techniques and materials. Plus, with the .22, you’ll not have to wonder about the oddball performance issues with some of the .25s (like mine).

Wait all the late night emails to me didn’t help persuade you to get an R3M? You had to hear it from Ernest and the Old goat huh.. I see how it is Brandon 🙂 Just kidding, congrats on the purchase!

Im so sorry Donny…I edited my post. You provided me with Tony’s info….tony&donnysedgunexchange@aol.com
The check is in the mail 😉

John….Tony didn’t have any .25’s only .22’s in standard and short. I ordered a .22 standard, I mostly paper punch anyway.

Hi Brandon,

You should see all the high end air guns I have, and the one I picked for small game hunting….Edgun.

Yeh, it is also good for paper punching and target shooting too.

My question is why a .22 short.? There is nothing wrong with .22, but I prefer a .25 short.

Congrats Brandon on your new purchase,

Johnp
