Feel badly for those Floridians and Puerto Rico that were affected by Irma ………….
Mother nature can be a bitch at times, more to come from her I’m sure. :angrymob:

If anyone has family or friends in Puerto Rico, They really got slammed and need anything they can get, problem is after two big storms hit two big states and then Mexico with two earth quakes and a hurricane supplies are in short supply and they need everything, also getting things there is a little more difficult as most of the stuff needs to be sent by ship. They are using airplanes for some stuff but they are limited on how much they can carry and what they can carry.
We Stayed for the storm on Big Coppitt Key, Seven Miles up the road on Sugarloaf they had 150 MPH winds gusting to 175 mph, and there are a lot of houses that are nothing but a pile of rubble. But on top of the high winds the storm also spawned a lot of Tornado activity. Marathon got the worst of it as they were on the dirty side of the storm. Big Pine Key is also a mess. I have been busy fixing a lot of electrical services where either the service mast was torn down or if through the roof 2″ rigid steel conduit bent and pinched the feeder wires. But as far as the Keys being wiped out, that is not true, we are cleaning up and fixing roofs, walls and anything else that needs to be fixed. We had to many animals to evacuate, the place we stayed in we had four pit bulls a puppy that someone had left behind, six cats, three birds and a snake. If I new how to post pictures here I would show where one house is gone and others on either side are intact. I even had plastic signs on plastic lattice fastened with plastic zip ties and they are still there but yet my neighbors place is gone.
Now that’s amazing that your house made it through the storm Sandelect. I thought the Keys got wiped out by the cat 4-5 Irma. Irma changed into a tropical storm once it hit Georgia and did a lot of damages still.
Hoot, thanks for the laugh bud 🙂
Glad that Donny made it through Irma, I live in the Florida Keys My place made it through with very little damage, but the place next door is just a floor a toilet and a tub. The rest of it is in my other neighbors yard on top of his cars.
 thAT’s some funny shit ….. Hoot !

I hope everyone’s car is ok…not everyone was that lucky:
Following the hurricane, when I heard
that Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson were
going to be guest preachers at an
Orlando church, I decided to go and
check them out in person.
As soon as I sat down, Reverend
Sharpton came over to me. I don’t
know why, maybe it was because I
was the only white person in the
church. He laid his hands on my
hand and said: “By the will of Jesus
the Lord Almighty, and the will of
God, you will walk today.”
I told him I was not paralyzed.
Then Jesse Jackson came by and
said: “By the Grace of God, and his
Son Jesus, the Lord Almighty, you
will walk today.”
Again I said that there is nothing
wrong with me.
After the sermon, I stepped outside
and lo and behold ……………………….
……………………… My Car Was Gone !

Donny, I don’t eat much if you need a hand….
We have power! Thank you everyone, glad to be back and funny to see the reaction of my neighbors on our Facebook group. They gave us an ETA of Sunday and this 95+ temperature was not helping. Even with a generator the house was still hovering around 84 degrees. I wish I could take pictures of all the devastation that occurred around me, amazing what mother nature can do on her period. Shingles are very hard to find now which was expected but after visiting 3 different Lowes and Homedepot I was able to grab 2 packs which should be enough. Luckily for me it’s the ridge caps that flew off and not the side shingles. Will be working on it tonight before the rain comes tomorrow. Again I appreciate the members checking in!
Donny
Never mind Hoot: I have it and will post it shortly.
:hoot:
I would like to start a “Re-Shingle Donny’s Roof” program…..everyone on the forum mail Donny a single shingle (preferably new) and in this way ease his burden of recovering from the storm!!!
Donny…please post your mailing address:
Thank you kindly…
