Q:

No more EDguns out of Russia :(

Hi, guys,

Sorry for making a new topic, but it seems to me there is a reason to do it. As I told before — we got some problems with sending out guns out of Russia, all the ways, we used to work were closed. Thanks to our government, for example according to a new law one even cannot send a China soft-air pistol by mail out of Russia. The most stupid thing is they made a list of so called “gun parts”, thing out of that list are not allowed to be sent by mail, one needs to call the special company which has a license to delivery such a parts. Among real parts of the gun like barrel etc, you can find there a gun-stock as well or parts of the guns stock, just a piece of wood but it a real “gun part”! Needless to say we are not happy of such a stupidity.

Anyhow I decided to try an official way of the delivery, we made an official contract with my Estonian’s friend. Executed all the bank papers, allowing us to make a dilivery. Then I gave to the local custom office the whole bunch of papers to proof that everything is according to the law. We discussed many things with them, even if I need a special license from the Ministy of Defence of Russia, allowing me to take my guns out of Russia (I have to say, that according to Russian laws and all the papers I make no the weapon but the “thing like the weapon” I have them all sertified for 3 Joles limit.)

So, it took about 3 weeks to prepare all the documents, to agree all the issues etc. Then I got a permission to begin the execution of the papers, allowing me to take the guns out of Russia. Everybody told that everything would be OK. The truck came from Estonia, we were about to load it already and suddenly the custom officials claims that they need to take few samples for the test if they are real 3 Joles. They did it — took out 4 gun, 2 Matadors and 2 Lelyas. It was las Thursday, 10th of Feb. Needless to say we gave them the real 3 Joles guns, the truck was staying at my place, waiting for them. Couple of days ago Ii got the information that there are some problems with the test. I understood that there will not be any delivery and let the truck go back to Estonia (that cost me 1 500 euro to keep it here waiting for the loading). Yesterday I got a call from the custom office, they are willing to come to my place. I expect they want to arrest the rest of the guns (about 60 Matadors)

I have no intention to give the guns to them. I made an official letter saying that due to the long time of execution and hight cost of all the deal I refuse to delivery the guns out of Russia and will sell them in Russia.

So I evacuated all the guns from the workshop and expect them to come on Monday. I have no idea what will going on but do not expect anything good πŸ™

Thus the last legal way of taking the guns out of Russia was cut off πŸ™ And I have no option left. So there are two ways:

1. Those who made a deposit to Tony — you can take it back. Those who had paid me — give me a letter of PM we will discuss the way I return money to you.

2. Wait until we made the first 300 guns in Europe (we started to make them already). We expect them to be ready in September-October period of time of 2011.

Yes, there is another option — to come to Russia and take the guns by yourself but I would consider that option rather as fantastic.

I think needless to say how I HATE that bloody Russia bureaucracy, Putin and Medvedev. You even cannot imagine how we live here, we spend about 70 % of all our efforts and power just to struggle the system and only 30 % we can use for the real work πŸ™

It became quite popular to make an Internet letter to Medvedev, so if some of you want to do it, you can make a letter to him, asking why the bloody Russia doesn’t allow their people to work and sell the good things out of Russia instead of gas and oil.

You can do it here:

Sorry, guys for the bad news but you can trust me I was fighting the system like a lion but fail :(…

A even better question : Can you send the parts for us to assemble ?
For example : This week send 300 valves , next week send 300 barrels and so on. Come to think of it, the barrels can be sent directly from Germany. In two months tops the guns will be shipped . We all have the assembling video and it’s not that hard to do it.

What do you say, Ed ?

OK,
SO let say I have two weeks off and a $897 plane ticket to Russia. I travelled to Bali in search of a cure for my trigeminal neuralgia so why not search Russia, I am used to long flights.
Can I as an american bring the Edgun back into USA?
If so can he bring in ten guns? 60 guns?
Ed forgive me stupid question and if i was not so lazy I am sure I could research online.

Ed, I am truly sorry to hear this!

I have 2 of your Matadors, a .22 cal standard and a long version .25. I am on the list for a .25 cal R3 and I will wait as long as it takes for you to send it to Tony!

I waited 45 days for my .22, 6 months for the .25. I have been waiting 1 Β½ months for the R3, another 7 months isn’t going to kill me!

I didn’t send an email to Medvedev, I have read that I could get a visit, from my government if I did. I have already had the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms come by for a visit and I would rather not have any visits from any other US agencies!

I have my 2 Edguns to enjoy, I feel the pain that the guys are going through that are waiting for their first Edgun!

Please don’t let the bastards drag you down!

I really HATE waiting for Edguns!

PS. If anyone is interested, I will sell my .25 long version (one of only two that made it to the US) for $4500. πŸ˜†

It is a culture of dog eating dog that has been established over centuries in Russia. Once the selfish bastard gets to the top of the “food chain” he of course has no idea how long he’s gonna last so he’s trying to take, abuse, enjoy the power for as long and as much as he possibly can. It is such a deep rooted culture of abuse of power that the deeper you go to fix it the worse it gets and you end up in the cemetery. The level of corruption is unbelievable!
Of course we have it here in US but the laws keep everyone somewhat in check including leaders but in Russia the law keeps only regular citizen in check and absolutely means nothing to the selfish bastards at the top.
Bottom line, everything goes to the very beginning; USA was formed with awesome laws in mind that no one is above the law (but even that is questionable now) where Russia was established the other way around.
To move an inch there and accomplish something you would have to spend couple generations of your descendants to do it. The whole system is so fucked up!!!

Hope you don’t get into any trouble and you can work it out as soon as possible. As long as you keep making them people will figure out a way to buy them. My deposit is staying with tony.
Just so I understand, you can still sell them in russia you just can’t ship them out of russia. Is that correct?

What can I say? I finally had my grey stock for my Matador a month ago. So I have to consider myself fortunate to finally have my rifle complete.
I think I’ll put extra care on my Matador and also erase from my head any sacrilegious idea of offering it for sale.
I hope Ed will find a way to make his fine products available outside Russia.
Good luck

Hey Hoot, I just came from there and it is not as bad as they say πŸ™‚ For many Russia is a living hell though. Pretty tough place to be. But it is not as bad after you get adjusted.

For me, it would be knowing what has to be done, when it has to be done, where it has to be done, how it has to be done, who has to do it….and then trying to explain that to a mouth-breathing, dull eyed, inbred pidor, that I wouldn’t trust to walk my dog, and knowing that I just as well try to explain mechanical engineering to a catfish!

That has got to be insulting to any intelligent adult.

We all understand, Ed, don’t let the bastards get you down! Many of them are too stupid to remember to eat, and will starve to death at their desks….or so we hope. If only they were not such successful breeders, the problem would eventually solve itself!

Damn shame a decent, hard working citizen, in any country, can’t be trusted by his own government to run his business, make a profit, bring employment to his friends and neighbors, and make a product that is superior to anything similar in the world.

The R3 will come soon enough, for those who know excellence requires patience.

Hoot 😯

Of course I got the joke but hey if you wonna buy my Edgun I can sell it to you for $3000 LOL. In all seriousness, though, I do feel very bad for Ed and this whole situation.

PS. Hoot, what is the best way to get the herbal aid that you use. I think I’m loosing it…

Start smoking celery to begin with. Work your way up from there.

Best advice I can give you.

Gotta keep the faith….R3….R3…..R3…..R3……R3

Hmmmmm….could we order a Matador one piece at a time????

Hoot
😯

Really sorry to hear that Ed, Wish there were more guys like you!

This is the most awkward and selfish thing to ask. Here we are , upset beyond words, busting our balls, in state of meditation just to be able to interact with our family, and you say that you have your Matador, and furthermore ,concern about internal parts if, God forbid, you may need one someday. Go start your own topic brother and let us suffer in peace.

Man, this sucks!!! Sooooo sad!
I just got back from Saint Petersburg visiting my in-laws and my family and if I new this would happen I should have bought one more gun and brought it over to US with me. I really feel sorry for you Ed but I believe there is always the way out of any situation. Honestly, because of stupid Russian gun laws, I will never move back there, ever. Well, I was not going to anyway LOL
I also feel sorry for all the guys waiting for their Matadors. I feel so grateful I have one.
But on the positive note, now I can sell my gun for $3000 bucks LOL
No just kidding, I don’t think I will ever sell it.
We are with you all the way. I hope we can still order the internal parts like regulators and valves as they do not look like a gun and might be shipped out, right?

Thanks for all the support here and in PM, that is real pleasure to understand that you are no alone.

Trygve, as for your guns, I didn’t describe every step I made to make a shipment. For the beginning we tried to do it by old way, by the mail, and the guns were sent to Saint Petersburg, awaiting when they will be sent. Then a man, who used to do it told that the way was closed completely and he has no ways to do it. Then I tried to make in via Estonia, delivering guns there one by one. We failed that way also. Then I began to try to make it officially, knowing that official way is the worst way in Russia and you can catch any problem at any time and any place while making that. Since I had no option I decided to do it as well — fail again. To make that officially I have to take all the gun back from Saint Petersburg to Russia, to show them to the custom officials. So I have all the gun packed to be delivered but have no way to do it for now. Will try to find out some other ways anyhow but I am not sure I will be in a success, something strange is going on in Russia. I could get my barrels from Germany for more then 2 months by usual way, because they changed something in the routine. It cost me 6 500 euro more to get them finally before New Year for a little more then 200 barrels and there was no other option to do it πŸ™
