No more Lelya’s???
I was told Ed was holding production indefinitely on the Lelya because of the high demand for the Matador R3.
Has anyone else heard of this?
I’m on the Lelya list ,but if Ed isn’t making them at all, why bother staying on a list thinking you’ll get your gun any day now, when it may be a year or more?
Was my European source wrong??? This is something a customer has a right to know, so we can change our plans, or models, instead of just waiting and getting frustrated.
Yeah, I sent Tony an Email, but he is busy, so no immediate answer, meanwhile I thought I’d ask if any of you have heard anything.

I hope youre wrong. Ive been on the waiting list almost 6 months allready for a lelya, that would really suck. 🙁 . Yea , if thats true id like to know a timeframe for when id expect get it. Hoot , please let us know what you find out so we all don’t have to email Tony if this is true.

But unless this whole broken stock thing gets resolved it may not really matter if they are still being produced.
I’d rather not play “Russian Roulette” with big money for a gun that may be broken when I get it knowing I have to buy the replacement parts with my own coin… 😕

When I find out something I’ll let everyone know. It does, however, have the sickening ring of truth, due to the overwhelming demand for the Matador at any price.
This Edgun thing is getting out of control. Once people get caught up in the hype and hyperbole (favorable forum remarks and overwhelming praise), everyone thinks they MUST have an Edgun! This is a “Beanie Baby”, “Cabbage Patch Doll”, herd mentality, aggravated by the limited number of Edguns.
A lot of these buyers are under the delusion that owning a hand crafted bullpup will allow them to achieve “Excellent” marksmanship status. (Wrong…)
Now, due to a of couple Edguns being sold at far beyond any reasonable market value, everyone is rushing to grab one at any price, thinking they will automatically make a profit if and when they decide to sell. Wrong again! They were way over-priced at $1650.00. For $1500 USD, I can buy a premium brand name repeating rifle, of any caliber, with an excellent scope, and still have change left over.
After the reality sets in, that excellence in anything requires hard work and a LOT of practice, many occasional weekend shooters will begin to see their Edguns for what they really are…a single shot, potentially very accurate, bolt action, pellet gun. They will then move onto the next great fad that supposedly will make them into excellent shooters. Perhaps FX will come out with a pcp that has the rifling on the outside of the barrel!
And on and on it goes…people never change. Serious air rifle hobbiests over run, and out bid, by herds of wild-eyed, insane, impulse buyers.
