Whoever banned oak, you just ruined The reputation of this forum as the forum where no one gets banned for their thoughts
If all/any of the truth or lies that hurt a TAG vender(s)/member(s) and he/she can’t figure it out by him/herself, it’s got to be sad day and at that …….. to be a shame at that ……… they are not as personally connected with each of us that well then.

It is true, I spoke with Oak today. Looks like he has been banned for a month, maybe longer…who knows. I do not know the reason but I can only assume it is because of his post with Joe B at TGAG.
I see both sides; perspective from a dealer’s POV and one from the consumer’s. As a dealer you have a lot of $$$ invested in product, time and energy. Honestly believe it or not there is not a huge profit margin for most dealers. If I were to run down the cost of bring in a high end PCP into the USA you’d be very surprised how little actual profit there is for the dealer. People think PCP dealers are cutting a fat hog but this is just not the case (especially if you do not have exclusive importation of a product). The market is very competitive with just a few customers for everyone to share. There are also a lot of expenses imposed on us just bringing in the guns from Eastern Europe. Every nickel and dime adds up. How many people do you meet that think you’re insane for buying a 1500-2000 dollar “BB”gun? That is an indicator of how few of us there actually are buying the Bugatti of airguns. So every potential customer manners to the high end PCP market. It is viewed by a lot of dealers in the USA that the airgun forum is the place where your business will live or die. This is why it is common for the larger dealers to pay off forum owners, start their own forum or complain to moderators about a member they view is hurting business.
On the other side the consumer views the airgun dealer as a robber barron, making money hand over fist and behaving in a very greedy way. This perception in my opinion stems from the moment Steve (yellow) exposed AoA’s business practices when their relationship turned sour. I remember (back then) thinking how I had been screwed by huge mark-ups and poor service (not just by AoA). I remember 2K dollar crickets, do you? I wanted to go to war over what I viewed as an incredibly unethical industry. This behavior from some dealers in the USA caused a systemic radiation like sickness amongst consumers; that is once you’re exposed it only takes a small secondary exposure to make you sick again. This is why a mob shows up every time there is a problem that goes unattended by a dealer.
So what’s the answer? Well as a dealer you have to be able to swing a two edged sword. Sometimes the forum will generate sales sometimes it will cut you. Only time will tell if I will be successful wielding a two sided sword. I have my own ideas how to do it, check back with me in a year to see if I was successful or fell flat on my face.
I don’t like people getting banned from forums. This is a practice that is very very rare in other hobby based forums. Let’s face it, most of the time we come to forum for entertainment, if nothing else Oakey was very entertaining.
Oak has been a bit off his rocker lately 😕 😕 …..but I find it hard to believe that TAG banned him

I never bought anything from Joe BS ………….. yet, but was thinking of getting a hi pressure drier from him, but because of this ordeal that was not handle off line like most professionally driven vendors would do ……….. I will not !
