Offset Tank
Heres that offset tank/Regulator adapter Ive been working on. Im a Cad newbie so forgive the pics. They are basic without a ton of detail until I lern it mor. I need to buy a book ).
Some features:
Main tank moved to the side for a more comfortable cheek/tank weld.
Can be flipped for lefty or righty in seconds. No more tilting your head to the side to see through the scope.
Added a low pressure tank and regulator that is user adjustable by using an allen wrench and the pressure gauge.
Fill probe adapter can be used while on the gun. Similar to the one Baz posted awhile back. Just slide in the probe and start pumping. 😯
Bottle collar in the gun will be removed for added valve room. Tank and adapter lock into the gun using the larger collar hole and the two angled rails on the back of the gun. Adapter will installed and removed in seconds using a thumb lever on the back of the gun.
Increased valve area allows more possible valve designs. I will start off with something semi standard but I have a zero back pressure valve on paper for the future.
This mod will add about an inch to the length of my gun.
This is a hobby project for me so it will be as time and money permits. I already have the T6 aluminum and several of the parts. Im going to need some more tooling though and will be chipping this out on my poor boy lathe and home built mill.

How would you guys attach it to the gun? The adapters being oblong would no allow you to rotate it into the frame. The fram has those 2 pointy parts that is only big enough to screw in the bottle at the vertex.

Rob, this is something Ive been playing around with for awhile now. Like most of the guys who have put forth ideas of this nature I always thought that bringing the tank to a lower position or angling it downward was the way to go. I have design after design trying to make that type of a solution work that was acceptable to me but I was never happy with end result. It was always a compromise to try and make it fit with the frame of the gun.
I think I decided on going sideways instead of down while looking at some of the pics folks have put up with the huge tanks mounted to the gun. By going sideways with the tank you could take the biggest tanks that have been used and still have a perfectly acceptable cheek weld to the gun. You would just have to move it farther to the side.
I really wasnt ready to post my idea as I wanted to at least have a prototype done and be in the testing stages. With the recent idea’s folks have been bringing to this site and the mention of trademarking and such I felt I needed to get something up here just so there would be no question that my ideas are my own and not some take off of someone elses work. While I have seen many approaches to this problem on the gun I think Im bringing something fresh to the table.
I will be working on this mod as I can but like I said Im working with minimal machinery and limited time and money. Once its finished and all the bugs are worked out I would like to be able to offer them up sale. After this one I may even look into farming a few of the parts out if I have trouble with them on my machines.

In my own mind i would have offset it to one side alone, and maybe had a fill adaption more like the evanix ar6? Only an idea. You seem to have more imagination than I (jealous lol).

AA 410’s are boring. They need no modifications and hit exactly where you aim everytime. That is why mine sits in a case and only comes out to hunt with. 😀
Thinking about it this would be a doubly good idea in the instance where you would normally require elevated scope rings just to correct parallax.
How come all the cool stuff comes out after I trade in my AF Super Talon SS for an AA S 410?:lol: WOKs trigger guard, this Reg. The other guy who is making the in bottle reg. Sheesh. 😆

Looks great. I’ve been very interested in such an arrangement for a while now. Have had a couple ideas come up but none has went to market yet that I know of so I’ve not been able to get my hands on one.
Would this be something you might make for others?
