Q:

OMG!!!!

Got an E-TAC
Tried to remove my valve with a spanner wrench and vise, nothing doing
Had to resort to the ole pipe wrenches
Fucked up everything
Does the valve really need be so tight?
Gonna do a rebuke on the SS valve
Little polishing and what not
Should be good to go, man that shit was tight

Just what I thought! well lets see its a slow night how about pressurizing and air tank and unscrewing it to see how far it can bury in my head!
Its stupid, do not do it! oh yea and the physics of it are as follows:
ITS STUPID! 😆

I rest my case.

2 people have died from guys unscrewing the tank from their paintball gun and the tank unscrewd from the valve and in one case killed his mom when the bottle hit her.

Shit happens

😆 😆 😆 😆 😆 😆 😆 😆 😆

Walt that makes me feel better about my valve stem popping out on me when i was “re-working” my 1st gen condor valve…

Who the fuck would be stupid enough to unthread a valve from a pressurized bottle??

Well, ahem, it was kinda like this…

had several bottles on the workbench and stopped working to have dinner with the family. Came back afterwards and grabbed the bottle but fucking black bottles all look like identical twins. Memory isn’t what it used to be. Dimentia setting in, cat ate my homework, whatever. I was kinda sure I had the right bottle. Put the valve into the vice… gave the bottle a small turn, damn it was tight… and a very small, tiny hiss started at which time this dumb fucker froze and stopped breathing for a minute. Then, very gingerly started creeping away… why the FUCK do people do that tippy toe thing when they are supposed to be in a dead run? Anyway, backed away and shooed the family to the far end of the house just in case. Boy asked what happened? and dad just told him in a tight jawed voice, ‘nothing.’ Told them to stay there for an hour and watch TV. Came back to find a completely empty bottle just like I remembered it.

So there you have it. Yes, it is tight when filled to 3000 psi but yes, it can be moved; but once the O ring starts backing away from the shoulder, you get a mean hiss and warning of what is about to let loose, so unless you are stupid AND deaf there should be plenty of warning. ‘Course if the bottle threads let go and it turns into a missle, well, fuck it all to hell.

walt

And thats ANOTHER thing… 😆

When you put your bottle on the doo dah to fill up, do you use a fudging great monkey wrench? No. You hand tighten it. O-ring does the rest, even at 3000psi+. How tight do you screw the bottle onto the frame? Weak hand tight.
So valve just nibbed onto bottle with wrench+1500psi+,+o-ring Vs Force required to remove bottle from frame= Valve is not gonna come loose.
Sorry, bored… 😆

There was a guy who thought it would be funny to see what happened if he shot a blast of shop air up his ass hole, he died…..thats what happened 😀

Tron Died? 😛

Someone say newbie know it all? Who is he? let me at ’em 👿

Good job saw. You took your time and it shows.

You guys made my fucking head hurt! 😆

And all this high brow math didn’t address the one variable constant. The amount of Gorilla Snot they goop on the damed threads at AF before they King Kong’ing that damed thing in there!

Now ya got to go and re-figure every thing all over again. (Good our newbie know it all didn’t see this thread. 😆 😉

Those are looking Great there SAW! 😀

MMMMMgh

here is a shot of my semi polished bits

Notice I beveled the brass nut a bit, and also reamed the bore to 3 mm
And on the gun

I just finished an epic battle on the saltwater fishing forum so there’s not much fight left in me tonight. You gotta get at me when I’m fresh so you can get your money’s worth. 😀

I’ll be back later if anyone wants to argue about anything at all. Yes it’s sad…I am getting old and no longer have a social life what so ever. My wife will spend the evening watching Lifetime (the anti-man channel) and I’ll be trolling the fishing and air rifle forums trying to pick a cyber fight.

😆 Put ’em up old man!! 😆 😆 😆 😆

😯

Yep, those fuckers are in there good.

FYI guys with all the maths. Paintball tanks have been known to unthread. It’s less pressure but 2000psi is a lot of force and they still back out… This is why the valve is either in there king kong tight or there is a bypass hole to bleed off the tank before the threads run out (liability insurance company requirements). The Selph vavle bodies have the bypass hole as required by his insurance post pb explosion lawsuits.

I don’t see how it could ever happen. But when using with this kind of pressure, i’d rather be safe than sorry. Having said that. Where is that locktite again. 😯 😆

PICTURES!!! 😆
