Your just plan sick shooting sparrows with a 30 cal, :smilen:
Could you post pictures of how you had to scrape them off with a stick? 😯
We really need pictures of your sick 30 cal sparrow shooting, :butkick:
Mike
I have been slaughtering sparrows all day long with the Baby Cricket .177 and the 10.34s at 900 fps. It destroys them at 19 fpe. I sure hope the Baby Short doesn’t take too long. 😛
For grins I nailed one with the 30 cal and I had to use a stick to scrap what was left off of the feeder.
SECoda it is a fun gun!
I finally dropped an order for a Shorty Mutant as well. I have an elusive .177 skeleton Compact Cricket and a .22 skeleton Standard Cricket. The Compact is still my favorite PCP. The shorty has a steep hill to climb to catch it. I have the Baby Cricket tweaked and tuned and it is deadly on sparrows out to about 75 yards. Smoother magazine indexing and an even better trigger will be perfect. Not too worried about getting an accurate barrel at this point. There is a huge spotlight on it and the dealers.
Earnest – did they get your picture posting issue resolved? That kind of limits the usefulness of the forum?
I’m patiently waiting myself for a Mutant but if the man himself (Ernest) who’s worked on probably hundreds of airguns says the Mutant has the best trigger on a bullpup, who’s to argue against that? People pay him to do his magic tuning their trigger and guns. I must admit that the Cricket Compact is a very unique bullpup. It has also become scarce stateside that I’d personally hold on to it but for me, adding a Mutant to the collection was a must. At the TGAG sales price and if it shoots as advertised, it’s the “most affordable” premium bullpup right now purchased brand new.
I must admit looking at the taipan loading is sweet. I’ve tossed the ideal of selling my cricket compact to get the shorty mutant, but there a sone thing I like about the cricket that makes me say why bother. I like the 14 round mag capacity, the extra weight doesn’t bother me as it helps stabilize during off hand shots, the mag holder is a plus and I have my trigger set so sweet I will have to feel the mustant to compare. One other factor is the cricket is capable of making a little more power sacrificing a little noise. With that said I won’t say the mutant is off of my radar. I got to get past the looks as the cricket is much more a attractive gun, lol. I’m waiting to see the reports of the new barrels. 😀 😀
OK OK you guys are ready sold me , Got my 22 black Mutant on order.
Selling everything not bolted down to pay for it,
Going to need a scope for it, I really like my Vortex Viper 30mm 6×24 That’s on my 25 Cricket
The Hawke on my 22 Cricket will get replaced soon to.
Mike
Hands down agree—. Has the best mag and trigger system.

SECoda,
I think you’re going to like the Shorty in 22, it bucks the wind better.
Congrats by the way ……….
