I agree with dman on all points, he is right on.
I had a 22. compact, I sold it off. It was heavy stock was bulky, mag I had too fumble around with it too much. And with field use, that’s not a good thing.
The shorty I’ve never seen one for sale used yet.
It has the finest trigger, to be had on any bullpup.
Like oak said once you own one, their is no going back.
You just need to get one, too see where we are coming from.
If I only could have one bullpup, it would be the shorty Taipan. 😯
I have been looking at a new pcp for a bit now, and I dont want something similar to my cricket .25. I either want something compact, lightweight and in .20 or .22 (exactly like a mutant short) or an air hog like a Flex .30 or Slayer .30 regulated (when they come out)
The problem is I cant make my mind up… I dont have a specific job that I need a certain caliber for. But hey, in Africa I can find a job for one 😀
What about the Cricket Compact in .22? I know it is discontinued but wich one would be the best if they both existed? Is the baby mutant shorter than compact?
The mutant is shorter, has a Far better magazine/cocking mechanism, The trigger is far superior, the ergonomics are way better, mutant has a safety, the cocking lever can be flopped from left to right, the mutant is quieter, and the price is better.
The mutant is very easy to service/fix if an issue arrises. also this wont happen….

Doorns they r coming out with a 25. Taipan very soon. 😯
In Africa, I bet u have lots of things too shoot at there.
