Ordering R3M parts
I tried to send an email to Ed through here, but the msg has stayed in my outbox for days. Sorry I post it here.
I really like my new R3M .22. I’m afraid to wait too long just in case of any parts wear out.
I’d like to order the following parts for R3M .22
1 regulator
2 valve stems
2 sets o-rings,
4 alum or plastic megs.
Let me know how to do it.
Thanks
Charlie

Count me in Hoot
1 valve for .25 cal
Thanks!
Further, I’m wondering if the valve stem could be made all metal and get rid of that plastic rod? Then you could kiss valve stem breakage goodbye, especially at high FPS with heavy pellets!
Has anyone tried to enlarge the transfer port on their .25 valve and breech? I’m wondering if you could push that valve a bit further for power and use some heavier cast pellets, but still stay in the FPS range of 880/900?
Personally, I don’t believe the Edgun .25 is anywhere near it’s maximum potential. With just a few minor changes…marvelous things might take place.
Thanks, Hoot.
I need
2 valve stem for R3M .22
me, too
1 – .22 R2.5
1 – .25 R3 long
1 – .30 R3 long
I would also like to order two air valve rods.
1 – .25 R3 long
1 – .30 R3 Std
Guys, the R2.5 air valve rods are longer than the R3s. Both the steel and Derlon ends are longer on the R2.5s. They can be easily cut to size and I prefer the extra length as I can cut them to fit as needed.
My 30 cal valve is IIRC, a couple of mm longer on the steel end compared to my newest R3 25 cal rod. The 30 cal air valve/regulator assembly is a couple of mm longer on the air valve housing end and needs a few mm longer steel end of the rod to work.
I have 5 air valve rods and they all are slightly different lengths on both ends. The steel ends have the biggest differences in length. The Derlin ends donāt vary that much and could be used as is. I still cut mine down to match the broken one. One of my 5 rods is for a R2.5 and both of the ends are a LOT longer.
AFAIK, ALL of the Matador replacement rods are interchangeable but, if you have a R2.5, you might want to ask Tony for the longest rod that he has, just to be sure that it will work for you.
One of my 5 air valve rods is for a R2.5, I donāt have any more of the R2.5s and I wouldnāt have any qualms cutting it down and using it in any of my R3s.
I have never broken a rod in any of my 22 cal Matadors, I have broken a few in the 25 cals and I expect to break a few in my 30 cal. Ed designed the Matador to be a 22 cal, he turned it up for the 25 and then he turned it up even more for the 30 cal. I expect my 30 cal to break a rod every 7,500- 10,000 shots and I am ready to replace the valve when it breaks.
You 22 cal Matador owners might never need a spare air valve rod but: you might feel pretty stupid if you break one and donāt have a spare!
The 25 and 30 cal owners should have at least one spare on hand at all times!
I have had to send out an āemergencyā replacement rod to a few guys that broke one, didnāt have a spare and Tony was out of stock.
EVERY Matador owner needs at least one replacement air valve rod on hand, just in case! Donāt feel stupid if you break one and donāt have a spare!
JohnP is working on another group O ring buy. I have only ever needed O rings and air valve rods for my 6 Matadors. Ed builds them to be as durable as a Russian tank!
I’ll order two – one .25 and one .30. I will still take two if they are the same.
1 – .25 valve
1 – .30 valve
