Q:

OUR BULLPUP CONDOR

MY SON AND I REALLY LIKED THE LOOKS OF THE AF CONDOR. AND NOT HAVING A DEALER WITHIN 500KM, WE UNDERTOOK TO MAKE OUR OWN. BUT AS YOU SEE WE CHANGED A THING OR TWO. IT IS 36″ OVERALL,
22 CAL., AND HAS AN 18″ BARREL.

Well here is a couple of pics.
The larger tank sure makes it look more robust, but the balance of it went out the window, it carries like an anvil. But i am sure it will be more steady.

Here is my new tank mounting block. I decided to have all of the plumbing in a seperate layer, so if i was to screw something up, it would only be the cookie. Now I have a gauge, and a foster quick fill. The brass item there is just a 90 degree elbow o-rings seal it up, the short tube from the cookie to the elbow is sweated in the elbow. Next time I will put all of the plumbing inside the tank block.
So off to the firehall today to get my air. But first I need to make a new valve poppet seems to be weeping just a hair. No time though to make a new modded valve like my son’s, he has a brass poppet, and a delrin seat, although not fully tested it appears indestructable. So back to the lathe. Nice to work for yourself, you can see progress, or at least value (learning) for your time. No just part of the process working for some un-appreciative dork. Oh well..

Well now that work is out of the way for a while, just finished 22 days straight 12 hr. shifts. So it is a nice break standing at the lathe for a while.
I changed the tank, went to a 48 cu. in. 3000 psi. bottle. So I had to make a new mount, but now I have a foster quick fill and a gauge. Also have to wait till I get some air so I can see how fast those Kodiaks will go. I hope accuracy does not suffer too much. We’ll see soon enough.

😯 Another inspiring post, nice strings and group!!

Jim

Raining outside today so decided to pressure test the gun beyond CO2. So filled all galleries and both cylinders with water, plugged in the fill probe, and turned on the air. I used 3300 psi. dive tank, but we only went to 2500, I got chicken. all held well, not a drop of water showing anywhere.
So dry everything out, and reassemble. first shot string on CO2 I expected less speed, but I am happy

all tests so far were with crossman copperheads 14.1 grains. It does not look too bad for a first attempt at such a low pressure. But I’m sure the starlings will notice, maybe a pigeon or two.

went to grandpa’s ranch to shoot a bit.

this is on a 2″ sticker, i got scared when i had the 3. knew i couldn’t get the group smaller, but maybe a whole lot bigger. later…

Hey Camotes.
Would you mind if i tried that ? I have a few mtr’s of 1.25″ stainless tube to use inplace of the bottle . I may be able to make a full stock in a steyer style in iether ally or possibley carbon ( are you reading this Colin 😛 )
Most impressed regards, Sean.

sure am mate 🙂

Just saw this beautiful work of art! All I can do is…

Holy hell… I’m just now seeing this. Unbelievable. Very nicely done….

………………………..words defy me.

Verry Cool!!!!!!!!

McMike:

See the 16 cc resovor on the end of this gun. Could a person add one of your regulatoes and use this 16 cc tank as the regulated air supply????
Just an idea.

Keep up the innovation!!!

Mark

Missed this one until today and all i can say is that looks realy cool , nice design too. Alot more radical than anything else tried so far 😀 .

Thanks Jim. U DA MAN……TODAY……LOL. We need to hook up I have a 24″ AF WL barrel for you to try in .22…….PM me Bro.

Wow man, that is so cool! I have been wondering how someone could pull off putting the bottle in the forearm position and use a real buttstock.

Absolutely fantastic, I hope it shoots as good as it looks.

It’s always interesting to hear how someone works around the tools they have.

The way I do fluting is, I mounted a router on the tool post, 1/4″ dia. ball nosed router bit, tube on centers, lock the spindle and go at it.

Remember, aluminum cuts like butter.

Roy S.

I would guess he uses the lathe head like a horizontal mill end and pulls the barrel across the bit on some type of sliding table…

I hear what your saying though, nice work with limited resources!!!

😆

All that was done on a lathe? WOW! How do you cut flutes and all the smaller machined parts?
