Parallax Discrepancies

What is used to figure out the minimum a scope will focus to(parallax wise)? Is it just the lowest setting on the scope itself? Is the zoom level involved in the calculation?

For example: I bought a tasco 3-9-32AO scope from optics planet a while ago. The tasco websites said that it was from 10 yds to infinity. Optics planet, and some others, said it was 10 ft to infinity? Then when I look at the scope, the lowest number on the objective bell is 7.5? But I can rotate it below that so maybe it can focus below it? Is there something I’m not seeing? Thanks

Turn the parallax all the way down, put the gun on a bench and look thru the scope.

Find the range where the scope is in focus, and see if the crosshairs move around when you move your eye back and forth.

When you find the point parallax is set to, measure that distance.

Lots of scopes can focus closer than thier advertised distance. My Hawke goes to 5 yards but the mark on the bell says 10.
Maybe Tasco just uses 10 yards for advertising, but your scope can do better?
Sounds like lazy marketing.

I think it depends on how far you turn the eyepeice out/in to focus the cross-hair to when you setup the scope the first time.
