Ross, I know your situation. No apologies needed. We would’nt be here without you. So I hope you dont mind me hiring someone in my town that I had a face to face meeting with and will take care of all the upadates with private servers and firewalls…..and whatever.

It boils down to this, really – the software that the forum runs on is called phpBB and the TAG is on version 2.xx which is out of date and has quite a number of security issues relating to how easy it is for bots to join and post spam. In order to upgrade the forum’s software to a much more secure version (which is not difficult in and of itself) I need to backup the database, install the new software, reload the database (all of the posts that have been made, etc) and do some fiddling to get everything just peachy. But, here is the rub – I am not in the US and haven’t been during 2011 and where I am does not have a remotely stable internet connection and is certainly not fast or stable enough to backup the database and upgrade the software etc. I can’t do that because I am hamstrung by the stability of my internet here in merry old London town. Well, I say “my internet” but what I really mean is “the internet of the person 5-6 houses down who I am piggybacking my wi-fi from”.
You ALL have my apologies, not just for the fact that I have not been around to update the TAG so that she runs like she should, but also for not being around in general for a year.

i can’t say i blame you for being cautious. but you may know a little bit more about me than you previously thought.
i bought an ss ldc from you last year and you shipped that to my office in so cal. we exchanged a few emails (kglad99 at gee mail dot com).

and if you google kglad flash or kglad programming you’ll find hundreds of references to me.
