I wanted to unstick this post so it stays highlighted……
In a nut shell Two Dogs nailed it.
If an IT guy would like to donate services and take a trip to Florida, I’m sure he would consider that, otherwise he will have to pay his guy to do the update. That’s what the donation is for, to pay Tony’s guy to fix the problem.
Just remember that Tony appreciates strange (verging on the obscene) comments in the notes section of your donation….

phpbb has free plugins that thwart spam bots.
in addition, the latest version 3.09 has captcha anti-bot protection built-in so you just update your installation: http://www.phpbb.com/downloads/olympus.php?from=submenu&update=1
