Q:

PCP shopping

guys, i am for my first PCP can somebody tell me what to except from a new condor .
every body seems to tinker with there rifles is this necessary, these things are not cheap if i get one i dont want to have to take a wrench to it!
its all about pesting for me, i am not really into shooting targets that dont move so FPE is really important.
and whats the best setup for hunting: scuba tank (at home) and several filled but stock bottles or buy and carry the pump with me.
and on a stock rifle with reasonably heavy .22 pellets how many usefull shots per fill and FPE

thanks for any info & patience

oh and the reason i am considering the condor is its ability to be stripped down and backpacked, will a scope hold its zero or have to be readjusted every time i reassemble the rifle

Nee gun liscence for 500 fps and up, after that it’s considered a firearm…no supressors/shrouds aloud here…i’m actually surprised talons are allowed because of the tactical look.

Madmac, are you in Canada for real? What airgun laws are like up there?
Thanks.

I don’t know about your hunting enviroment, but the 20-30 odd shots at full power I get is more then enough for a few hours hunting, so a single charge on a bottle is enough. If I take a shot, I expect to take the target down. Not often I get more than 10-15 kills on a trip around the farm(about a 2 hour amble)

thanks, the wife aint going to like this!! while were at this does anybody make a multi-shot mag for the condor i have been watching guys shooting on you tube and i am thinking, loading a pellet with gloves on is not going to be fun

If you want the ultimate power weapon in pcp get it, its loud and powerful, the most shots in its power range of pcps, I would not take a pump in the field too easy to get dirt in it and ruin it, Air hog.com makes a pygmy fill bottle, but its 4500psi. and you should check that you can fill before you buy, If you need more then 30 -40 shots of pure power, you should get a tank, scuba tank and K-valve to fill. You can easily get many more shots and quite enough power to take out small to med. size game, once you get to know you gun better.

how many shots do you get per tank of air
and do you take extra tanks with you

So long as you don’t remove the barrel or scope and are just unscrewing the bottle it will hold its zero.

Lots of guys like to tinker – the majority of the “mods” around are just for looks such as grips, breech’s and cocking knob’s etc and do not effect the accuracy of the rifle.

The gun’s shoot well out of the box. That being said, IF you do find a problem, then its a lot easier to fix than most other PCP’s.

I keep mine for the same reason – I can unscrew the bottle and fit it into a small backpack. If it wasn’t for that I’d probably suggest something else like a Career.
