Picked up this FX Royale 400 from the yellow and let me…
…say that this is (thus far) the smoothest, best handling/balanced pcp I have owned thus far. Can’t say most accurate as my Scorpion (BSA) was just as accurate (at least at 25 yards).
Put a Millet 4-16 x50 tactical scope with some nice rings that Charlie (Roachcreek) blessed me with. I like the look of a little silver to break up all that black.
Not sure how fast they were running but Matthew (the guy I got it from) said AOA claimed it was factory set at 850 fps with the 18.1 JSB. I will chrony it next chance I get to see where it’s at and may turn it up a bit. I ran 48 shots from a 200 bar fill and I still have around 160 bar so I am assuming this is a low to medium power setting.
Accuracy was 1/4″ to 3/8″ with two 12 shot groups. One with the 18 grains and the other with the 16 grain JSB’s. Can’t wait to play some more with this one. Plan to put a light bipod on it in the near future. Scratch one off my airgun bucket list. 2,3,4, and 5 are as follows (in no particular order). Shoot and or own a rapid, air ranger, Edgun, and any Barnes I can come within 10 feet of 😛

Honestly, I only have one neighbor and we don’t really talk anymore. It seems they called code enforcement on me and I was forced to remove my “carport” which they called a “pole barn”. I had to take it down. Now whenever I shoot in the yard I enjoy hearing her mumble under her breath…especially when I send the light pellets supersonic 😛

I don’t see a need to have a full shroud on this. It is already very quiet in factory form. I understand the need on the AA as I hear they are not so quiet from the factory. Not so with this 400.

If you want a full shroud on that bad boy…Josh Graham over on the yellow is building them now. He did one for my AA S510 and it’s a fine job and one hell of a lot quieter than the factory original.
That bad boy would look some kind of bad with a 1.25″ OD full shroud on it!
Bog…..ONE bad experience and all I get is bad press! Oh well, Hitler had the same problem.

Congrats on the new gun! It’s satisfying to grab a rifle, make a few adjustments and fire a pile of pellets inside a nickel! Yes, there have been a few FX issues of late, but they are performers when you get them right.
The rubber bands on some of your tins look exactly like the Broccoli rubber bands on my tins.
Take that baby out to 40-70 yds. and see how it compares to the Scorpion. Both are good guns, but it’s worth stretching out the yardage on each.
I’d be careful even offering Hoot a chance to shoot it, in FL. Hoot’s a lefty and most folks don’t know he has a patent on “Rasp-n- Grasp”, a special, high abrasive glove /hand coating which instantly allows a lefty to grab a right-handed rifle and modify it to a leftist configuration! Folks say Hoot dismisses the sawdust on the floor as “dandruff”. When you get your gun back in hand, it doesn’t feel right or shoot right. Plus, there will be some strange coat-hanger mod on the bolt. That’s when Hoot will offer you twenty dollars for it.
Next thing you know, all you got is twenty Canadian dollars, some sawdust and some Broccoli rubber bands.
After having had a tin spill open on me…I always use those rubber bands. The tin with the orange target is one of the twist on tins from Crosman. I just write the caliber on the paper. These are “lifelong” tins…just replace the paper target when it wears down.

80, can’t wait to see some longer range groups. I don’t think things will change much at twice the distance your shooting now! 😀 At least that is what I have heard from plenty of folks, those rifles shoot real nice shooters.

Sorry Hoot, you’ll have to visit florida to shoot her. The only catch is that for each half hour of shooting/testing…you’ll have to put in an hour of babysitting the “pack” so me and the Mrs can get some alone time. Let me know if your up for it.
