Q:

Question 4 Veteran owner’s……

Has anybody with a Veteran tried, too take off the cover that hides the trigger parts? 🙄
My old Mutant I could take off the trigger cover.

But with my new Veteran, for the life of me I can’t get it off.
I’m not sure, if now they have used loc-tight or some thing.

I know that on both my Mutant & Veteran, on the trigger adjustment they use loc-tight
on some it.

What have you guys found? 🙄

Cover off … easy
Kinetic energy is your friend …. loosen the cover screws a few turns each but don’t remove … using a plastic face or leather mallet strike the side of receiver ( same side as cover ) and the ensuing energy will have the triggers internals bouncing up against the cover and it will come loose.
Now remove screws all the way and remove cover.

Bigger cylinder volume, built in 20moa scope rail, thread in block to hold barrel tight

Yes those are internal.

Major diffs in my mind:
Cocking mechanism will not advance magazine until it’s fired. So you can uncock it, re-cock and will not double load pellets
Dual transfer port for better efficiency/power/more shots
New regulator design
Magazine holds 10 instead of 12 pellets (and is thicker for longer pellets i THINK – but i do not have mutant)

Thanks kidcurry.

So those are major internal improvements in design and function of the Veteran from the Mutant.

Steel,
Good one , I also will be waiting on the answer,
I got a Veteran 25 and a Mutant 22,
I know the answer to the question,
But I can not put it in words , someone a little smarter is going to have to answer this question.
I can sum it up and say the Veteran is a up dated Mutant, How is that for an answer?
Mike

Thanks Mike. That is the smartest answer I have heard for now…Veteran is updated Mutant. I hope others will chime in.

Reading the posts make me somehow confused.

What is the difference between a Mutant and a Veteran?

I thought there were just different names of the same gun.

Please educate me on this.

thx Jamie :biggrinn:

Rowdy u home wrecker….

If the cover plate is aluminum, the magnet will not work. I didn’t know they were made from aluminum. Sorry for getting anyone’s hope up.

Thx I may have too try that.
I bet that would work. :biggrinn:

Good luck with that. Last time I checked aluminum is not magnetic. …

You could get one of the real good quality rear Earth magnets big strong and flat surface. Put a layer or two of masking tape on the surface of it, and try to get it off with it…

They have some of those magnets that are pretty strong… Just use the masking tape to keep from scratching.

Yea……

I’ve tried that also, with no luck lol.
I thought the same thing about the machining.

The trigger is a working piece of art. :biggrinn:

When I first tried to open the trigger assembly cover on my mutant short it didn’t want to come off either, think I used a pick at the screw holes to lift off the cover. Goes to show how tight the tolerances are on the machining, it really is top notch. Wanted to play with the trigger, but in reality it is fine out the box. I not gonna even bother with my Veterans. If you have an air compressor you might want to try and blow a little air in there to push the cover out from the inside.
