Q:

Question 4 Veteran owner’s……

Has anybody with a Veteran tried, too take off the cover that hides the trigger parts? 🙄
My old Mutant I could take off the trigger cover.

But with my new Veteran, for the life of me I can’t get it off.
I’m not sure, if now they have used loc-tight or some thing.

I know that on both my Mutant & Veteran, on the trigger adjustment they use loc-tight
on some it.

What have you guys found? 🙄

Thx Kmhusain :biggrinn: ….

it looks like all the new Veterans got a little bit bigger air tube.
Thats a nice shot count, for the 22. short.

I bet Greg will have a Veteran in his future soon. :biggrinn:
I think his wheels are turning.

Thx for your help kid, on my stuck trigger cover.
I’ll keep an eye out for a small suction cup. :biggrinn:

no I did not get it that hot :biggrinn:,I could touch it with my finger. And what ever they used did not break free.

Rowdy I can get the screws out np. :biggrinn:

Ok so the first time I took it out I used double sided (strong) tape and used a strip of sheet metal on other side. Came out easier than I thought it would. Then it was a royal pita to find a solvent that would remove the adhesive off the plate. After that I could use electrical tape or suction cup.

AT diameter is close to a Edgun and Crickets but still a bit smaller.
For the Veteran anyone know if you can use an Edgun/Cricket reg tester or will it need an adapter insert ?

Thats a lot of shots Kmhusain, can you please measure how long your air tune is.
I bet your air tube is longer than the 22. short Mutant.

Most guys use the 15.9 gr jsb pellets in the short Taipan.
I think you’ll be happy with them. :biggrinn:

The air tube is 430 mm end to end including the tube pressure gauge and the O. D. thickness is 36mm.

Really the only thing to heat would be if the screws had the loctite on them and your not able to break them loose, you would only just warm them and break the screw loose and out.

Ok …….

I’ve tried using the tape, does not work for me.
If I’m ever out in a store I will look for the right size suction cup.
But I really don’t think it will work.

Like Kmhusain, :biggrinn: has said it’s either glue on, they used some loc-tight.
I tried a torch on the cover, I guess it was not hot enough.
I can get the screws out but not the cover off.

I guess it’s on too stay.
Kmhusain did you get a short or a standard Veteran, and how are you liking it so far? 🙄

Are you serious about a torch? The cover plate is a tight fit and if it was heated and expanded it would be worse.

It is short. Today I shot a full string 250-120 bar using JSB 18 gr. I got 58 regulated shots of 835 fps which is approx 28FPE. I will try the 15.9 grn pellets tomorrow and lower the velocity to squeeze out more shots as I intend to fill up to only 220 bar.
I was astonished with its out of the box accuracy. A few 5 shot groups over 50 yards were a single ragged hole !
It is kind of loud compared to my Colibri therefore I will get a moderator. Overall it is a gun that worth the money and may be more.

Today I got my 22 veteran. I tried to alter the trigger but as you all said it was glued or lock-tight applied. Do you think heating the screws will loosen them? Thanks for your advice.

Ok thx guys 4 your input. :biggrinn:

I’ll try the tape trick, & see if I can get it off.
We all like our triggers different.

I like mine, with no first stage just light pressure & it goes off. :4:

I mentioned the suction cup in the other thread. I have to admit, I didn’t even fudge with my trigger system at all on the Veteran as it feels terrific as-is. Sorry for the lack of help.

I asked the same question and people mentioned putting a toothpick in the screw hole to pop out the plate. But I didn’t find that there was a gap big enough.
Suction cup was also mentioned and that works. I ended up just using electrical tape to pull it off most times. Just fold it over in the middle like this for a “handle” ____|____
