question – is 0.25 the optimum calibre?

why is .25 seem so popular – is this the optimised calibre for the air rifle? ❓

i see, how about in terms of optimising distance, trajectories, etc. would a 0.22 go further and straighter (but less knockdown power) compared with say a 0.25 or even 0.3?

25 is an excellent calibre for airforce guns, I use it and can recommend it. But there is no optimum calibre. It all depends what you want from your gun. The airforce guns are more than powerful enough to make 25 cal pellets fly and you get more fpe and knock down with your average 25 cal pellet over 22 and 177. But 25 cal pellets are nearly twice the price of 22, so if your mainly punching holes in paper or soda cans, then you may want to bear that in mind. :18:
