Q:

quick connect

Yesterday I bought a 68cu in 4500 psi carbon tank. Has the fill adaptor for filling the spinloc tank. Every thing is pressurizing right and I have 2000 psi on the carbon tank and 1600 psi on the spinloc. For some reason it will not fill the spinloc tank. I think that I am going to go back to the store today. But was hoping for someone that knows about this to help. Maybe I am doing something wrong.

edit: was to add photo’s

I would but I don’t know how to do that and I am afraid that I would blow some thing up like myself. 😯

I returned the tank and the quick fill adaptor today. Just looking like I am going to have to spend a lot more money some where else.

I was looking for some thing small that I could keep in the truck for top offs while I’m at work.

Thats definitely what is wrong… Those Tanks have ASA adapters that are regulated so the most you will ever be able to fill up your tank to is 800psi some are even regulated to less than that depending how the set up the washer stack inside.

You still can reshim the reg to put out more. Just have to play with the shim stack

I just got home and figured out what it was. You are all partially correct. The only thing that was holding me back was the regulator valve . The output was 850……….dangit I thought that I had a good deal going only to find out I was wrong again. This af journey has been a road of hard knocks. 😯

paintball tanks are usually regulated at 800. Can you image being hit with 1800lb. 800 leaves a hell of a bruise.

quote knifemaker:

Any one notice that the check valve, or blow out says 1.8K only? Looks like the tank may be regulated to 1800psi. It would explain a lot.

I just saw that also. If it is for paintball then it is probably regulated at 800 psi.

That is a 4500 psi reg and it is set to 1800 psi output. Says right there 1.8k.

You need to take and shim it so it will put out 2800-3000 psi.

Well, they probably never had any problem with those inferior hoses anyway…..so who wants to be the first one to be slapped in the face and see (hopefully with 2 eyes) if it hurts ❓ ❓

Dyotat100,

As far as i know you are 100% correct. I have never delt with this stuff before. I am still on the bottom end of a large curve! 😀

the hose is rated 3000 psi.

And yes it is a paintball fill whip.

I took a couple of more pics….

Jesse,

Ah, now I see the beginning of the coil loops.
BTW, are there numbers on that hose to indicate it is 4500 PSI rated ❓
I’m not familiar with this paint ball stuff so very cautious.

That looks like a paintball reg fill whip. Looks like a reg in the tank and you turn the knob and it fills to what ever the reg is set to.

That hose looks like a paintball hose and doubt it’s rated for 3000 psi

Well I gave it a go. dumped the spinloc to 1000 psi and hooked it up, the hose pressureized and non went into the tank again. They don’t open till 1 pm. so I will bring it there and let them figure it out. thank you for the help. I am just wondering since it wasn’t at 4500 psi that it just dosent have enough pressure to fill.

There is no kink. It is the start of a coil. I could see how you would think that.
