Q:

"New" project was a Condor SS…

So I figure I’ll put it in here…

So a while back, I had a Condor SS converted over to a .30. It had all the goodies- CF tank, TT tank adapter, a modified china clone FX cheek piece, WokGuard 15, WokButt, TJ .30 airgun barrel and a Clague LDC. Unfortunately though, all said and done it was a helluva long gun. Too long in fact.

I had completed a Tagdagger Microlite kit on a TalonP a couple of months ago and I LOVE it. Then my brain just clicked. So I started going over all the Microlite posts, and the youtube vids. After talking to Tagdagger a bunch, he sold me on a 20″ barrel. Then I started doing all the measuring.

Where I’m sitting right now is:

I’ve got a .2L bottle with M18-1.5 threads for the Condor valve. For those that might consider doing this that have a .30 conversion, the Condor’s top hat will go into a TalonP valve. Since my valve was worked over by Tony, I wanted to keep it.

I’ve got a stock that goes over the small tank and it’s adjustable! It also looks like a Mission First Tactical Minimalist stock:

I’m shortening the Condor frame to a custom length, so it’s not even going to be a Talon length frame.

I’m having a 1 piece barrel bushing made, that’s also an LDC mount.

My LDC will be a 1.5″ O.D. tube that’s 6.5″ long.

I’m going to re-use as much as I can from the original .30 build, for this microlite build. The CF tank is going on another build though, since I can’t use it with the Microlite kit. So I’ll have that WokGuard 15 on here too. I’ll keep y’all posted, and attach some pics when I can.

I got my tank cover/stock and my guide rod… Much nicer than I was expecting!! One step closer! I can’t wait to get my new tank so I can test fit everything together!

Nah… I’m not concerned with removing a bit of anodizing (paint?) off of a chinese tank and gluing some metal to it. It may even look cleaner, and saves me over $20! LOL I just have to wait until all my parts come back so I can time the tank right before I glue the guide rod in place. I know its still going to be a while before I get my Condor parts back, but come Dec. 1st, I’m ordering the Microlite kit from Tagdagger… I’m too excited for this build to be done! I want to sight her in and start laying the smackdown on some steel and make my range card before the spring gets here!

The only problem I foresee is that on a spin-loc tank, the gauge and fill nipple are in the valve body… So I don’t think I’ll be ordering this collar. I guess I’ll have to glue the guide rod onto the tank after all. Meh. I’m not too concerned.

I have a regulator in place, so okay for me. Maybe a spacer in between the valve and body?

It’s a good thing you posted that- I was gonna glue the guide rod onto the tank… So does the air stock guide adapter go around the neck of the tank?

Around the valve body

I got the Frame, barrel and LDC tube/end cap sent off to the builder. Not sure when I’ll get it back, but I’m not in too much of a rush- The gun has to be done before spring, and that’s a little ways off!

The reason for the custom length frame, in case y’all were wondering, is because of the 20″ barrel. Tagdagger felt (and after doing an average of all the popular .30 pcp’s, I concur) that a 20″ OAL barrel would be a good compromise between keeping it as short as possible, and retaining some kind of efficiency. Especially since this build will have less than half the amount of available air than a standard Condor has. I also wanted the muzzle to stick out only a little past the 1 piece barrel bushing/LDC mount. The LDC won’t be too long (again, trying to have the shortest OAL), and I think having more baffling will be beneficial. This is all just an experiment of course, so we’ll see what this size LDC can do w/a 60+ fpe gun. I’m also keeping the fpe sorta low for a .30 for both efficiency and sound level. Besides, 60 fpe with a .30 will be more than enough for what I’ll be shooting inside 80 yards anyway. Hell, I may be able to stretch that to 100 yards for all I know. We’ll see.

Follow in with great interest!
I have a 13 AND 17CI Tanks and the slip over shoulder stock and the rail it moves on like the CAR-15 stock, but I need this piece to link it all together: https://mcsus.com/collections/buttstock/products/tacamo-mkv-air-stock-guide-adapter-for-bolt-blizzard-mkv-storm

Have an 18″ .300 barrel too.
