Yep, this whole Rooski Bullpup thing was an offshoot from my Slavic cousins pushing the envelope to develop easily concealable and more over manuverable ultra quiet rifles with which to blast birds in the city through a rolled down window from inside a stationary car 😆 😆 😆
now thats some seriously funny shit when you think about it 😉
Heck you get caught doing that in any American city you will likely be jailed, convicted of a Felony…thats if our militarized Police don’t shoot you dead after some good citizen calls in your license plate and sobs GUN! to the dispatcher 🙄
these are Specialist weapons indeed

Like I said most of the Bullpup craze in the USA is with the youth and Edguns are a status symbol or just a markup game like new DAQ big bores
I absolutely love mine…then again I have owned Valmet AK bullpups and Styer AUGs, heck my 1st Bullpup was a High Standard 10B semi auto Bullpup 12 gauge riot gun back in the 70s While many fawn over Bullpups most have never handled, muchless shot one and once they do the luster fades fast.
For a Bullpup the Edgun is very well thought out and the most comfortable pup I have owned, even handled but that said they will not be most folks cup of tea.

how long will the craze last?
quite awhile with status guns like Ed’s and Mavricks and much of that is due to exclusivity
on conversions of low end guns such as the Marauder or Pneuma the market will saturate real fast as folks buy and become disgusted with the unique handeling characteristics then pimp them off on the classifieds

folks were just giddy when the Corsair came out…constant posts on the Yellow then the novelty factor wore off and you hardly read a word posted on them…great guns for the money but reality is Big Bore is another very tiny market 😉

Well said ! 😀

I have asked this question before, – and I am only happy to repeat it:

How long will this BullPup craze last ???? 🙄

It’s been going on in Russia for a few years, – and may be there it will continue for quite a while……

After all, – they developed this “concept” for airguns with a special type of hunting in mind…..

But quite honestly I too am worried about the real size and “staying power” of the Western demand. My guess is the market for low/medium quality bullpups may be saturated fairly soon…… 😉

It does not matter how good they are, – they’re stil very different to shoot than traditional guns. Something you’ll realize very soon once you try…

That said, judging from the number of daily views of my comparison thread (even without new posts), – there is certainly a global interest for the subject which MAY signal a market potential…..

Interesting months and years ahead………… 😉

😀

$125.00 doesn’t leave much meat on the bone as you are not counting just general mental effort time in with labor…pretty certain the margins are a bit better on the QB to Corsair conversions
after all where are you going to dump the take off bits to recoup some of the investment? The Pneuma has no where near the following the QB does.

I am also going to dispute demand level
sure there are a bunch of Fan Boi Halo playing kids who go ga ga goo goo over every crappy bull pup one off conversion online but that in no way means if you build it they will come
was lots of folks who claimed interest in the TerryX and AWC pattern stocks for the Marauder too but an online show of hands is seldom a reliable barometer of an actual market, in the final analysis Airgunners by far and large are cheap fuckers
Bullpup conversions are even worse in this regard in my opinion due to just how tiny the actual market is…I have a real sence that for many, even an Edgun is more show and tell status than something many are smitten with after arrival of the product. You can see this in the numbers of Edguns bought then nearly immediately resold at profit
its not the fault of the gun, more a case of folks who love the looks and idea of bullpups but just cant deal with real world ergonomics.

as to the rifle…they are a fine value in a budget PCP
understand the Pneuma is merely a rebranded by Umerex Hatsan AT-44 made in Turkey and if they go direct to Hatsan to obtain a base AT-44 or better yet rifles without stocks they can likely do pretty well
there is a bit of modding of the design going on…particularly with barrel replacement. Hatsan simply is not a world class barrel maker
There is no suppression but the barrel is threaded
by the time you correct those two issues there is likely another $300.00 plus added to the conversion meaning you are most of the way to an Edgun or Kricket using a platform not nearly as refined as either.

If the Leftymadrid stock is done well, that is a much better option
2nd hand Marauder $300+/-
dump stock………….-$50+
that means roughly $250.00 into the base which depending on the kit price could be far more cost effective and with none of the fuck around folks often get from Umarex regarding replacement parts and at least on the .25, far better barrel quality

still won’t hold a candle to an Edgun though 😉

I’ll tell you where there is a likely better Bullpup kit market and that would be a high quality conversion kit for a FX Monsoon. A 2nd hand semi auto Monsoon can be had +/-$1000.00 and I could see sinking a bit of coin into an Edgun style Walnut Bullpup stock assembly
most of us who already own a Monsoon are not eating Ramen noodles, what I am saying is the market demographic while smaller than the Marauder guys at least tends to be better monied.
what makes better sence? A $500+ bullpup conversion of a $300 rifle or the same applied to a $1000.00 plus semi auto?
same deal with custom bits for Shiloh Sharps rifles or Class III
someone who has the disposable income to afford 10K+ on a tranferable M16 or even more on other NFA won’t bat an eye at prohibativily expensive custom bits for their toy collection

No problem…I have a thing for Okies 😆 enjoy…

Hey Hoot good business plan for the Pneuma, looks doable. Now if someone that owes a Hammerli Pneuma would let us know about reliabilty, accuracy, shot count, ect… the picture starts coming togather.. 😀

If you take a Pneuma, which retails at about $350, add a bullpup trigger and scope attachment, plus a synthetic stock, and still make a profit, with a sales price of less than $900, then costs have to be cut somewhere. I doubt it can be an all custom made “kit”.

Barring the ability to obtain the Pneuma’s at cost, you have about $550 to come up with a stock that fits the Pneuma rifle, and pay for the material and milling for the trigger/scope, trigger/linkage, plus retain a profit.

The first thought I have is a pre-existing bullpup stock from the air soft community. Let’s face it, there are no bullpup “kits” on the market to retro-fit air rifles. So, short of injection molding a specific stock for the Pneuma, would it make more sense to convert an existing, low cost, synthetic air soft stock to work with the Pneuma?

As for the trigger/scope arrangement, that can be milled cheap enough in quanity to keep costs fairly low.

So, lets say $350 for the base rifle, $150 for an air soft bullpup stock, and $125 for milling of the scope base, and perhaps $50 for the trigger linkage and parts. You are at $675 and there are bound to be costs I haven’t considered here. So let’s toss in another $150 for “mystery” expenses, some labor costs to assemble and costs to ship the guns, and now we are at $825. This allows a $75 profit margin for the maker, if the cost comes in at close to $900. Some of that can be recovered if the maker adds shipping costs as additonal to the bullpup purchase. If the maker can mill the parts himself, then costs go down further. The profit margin goes up to over $100 per unit. Sell a 100, make a thousand bucks.

This would seem do-able to me. The key is obtaining the pcp rifle at a low cost, and still have performance that excites the buyers. The Pneuma would seem to fit that agenda.

That’s my shot at a guess at how this is done. I may be, and probably am, completely wrong on this. However, it is how I would procede if I wanted to get a bullpup on the market quickly and at a low cost.

The only other game in town is Leftymadrid.com ( http://leftymadrid.com/Products.html ) and his Marauder bullpup stock, which is custom CNC milled for the Marauder action. I understand that the first kits are being machined now. That doesn’t mean it will hit the general buyers next week, but within a few weeks it should be in the hands of some buyers who may share a peek at what it is, and the cost. I noticed he has some color renditions on his Product page and is preparing an ordering “cart” feature soon for his website.

It’s good to see some bullpups come on the market. I believe there is a pent up demand and sales should be plentiful for anyone entering this market niche.

Just my thoughts….

PS: ‘Oldfart’…from what I’ve read, the Pneuma is an overpowered and quite accurate rifle. Very loud due to no supression.

Well sounds interesting 😀 and the price looks good 😎 NOW what does anybody know about Hammerli and the Hammerli Pneuma PCP ❓

Nice to see others are getting on the BullPup band wagon at a lower price. Quality is the big unknow ❓ So somebody on here must have a Pneuma rifle. Help us out…. 🙂

That’s about it right now. Rifles are supposed to be ready in 2-3 weeks. As soon as I get more info I’ll pass it on.
