Thanks Ed!. It appears no problem to ship directly from Russia to Missouri. It took ten days exactly from ship date on package. The valve stem looks great.

Thanks for responding so quickly. Will the existing spring be strong enough for the heavier hammer and valve?
Be sure that the length of the rod at the valves is not set to you gun, it has excess of the length. So, when installing you need to cutt it off the way to have 3 – 3.5 mm of protruding the end of the rod from the bronze guide in the back plug. If it is longer you will curve it with the hammer, it shorter, you will not achice the neccessary speed and destroy the bronze guid of the back plug.
As for the heavier hammer, I have no one left, unfortunately, has to order more, it takes time.

I did not get the heavier hammer (yet). I will PM Ed. That makes more sense to me but won’t the HS be too weak as Ernest suggests? I guess we could trim that stem down.
Maybe Ed will post??? 😕 I hate to touch a gun shooting as well as my 30 cal with the original stem without knowing for sure what to do.

Compared to the old valve, the new valve is massive! The old valve weighs 65.5 grains, the new one is 222.9 grains. The spring guide end on the new valve is .568″ longer on the new valve.
Ed also sent me a heavier hammer, it weighs 583.6 grains.
With extra weight I think it would be slower, so more hammer spring tension just to get the same speed as the original.

It looks like bronze. I am still running on the original at about 2600 shots but it must be tired at this point.
They are quite a bit different than the old ones besides just the materials. Most notably length and weight.

Many a times upon awaking I often wonder if want I’m thinking was just a dream or actual reality. With that being said I believe I read somewhere that Ed was now making the 30 cal valves out of bronze…….?

We used to make them this way, but I found out that plastic are working better from the point of veiw of the air consumption and they are quite reliable.
