Ready For a Compressor
I really need a compressor since buying a 30 caliber air guzzler. Any compressor recommendations would be appreciated. $1500 is what I would like to spend but would be willing to go $1800 – $2000(max) for a good setup.
My breaker box has two 20 amp breakers not being used that can be used for a compressor.

Probably less at PAG but AOA is the distributor for all of them i think.
Here is a good comparison chart. Cost per cu ft.

Thanks, so the Omega 100 cubic looks like a good buy, but at R&L not AoA even though it the same cost …. 😆

Hey SECoda,
I still consider myself a newbie when it comes to Tank and Compressors ……. … .. . Sir.
Still can’t understand why they advertised them to be 75 cubic when in real life there 66 cubic so I was told ?
Thinking on getting another Omega in the so called 100 cubic size or a Great White from Joe ?
So, are the so called 100 cubic actually 88 cubic ?

I have two 2007 SCBA 44 cu ft tanks I paid $200 each for in 2010 but I would like to pick up one large tank for home and carry the 44s on trips. What tank brands are you considering?
Without naming any names. 😛 Some vendors have been bad-mouthing certain air-related products half scaring some people to death and then pressuring them to buy their stuff. Don’t buy the snake oil.
Hey Sam long time,
I will third that, I received my Omega SC in (06/03/2015) and have been topping off my 75 Cubic 2-3 times a week ever since.
With absolutely no issues as of yet, it runs very reliably every time.
It’s also wife approved, she doesn’t like noise.
I’m in the need to get another CF tank, a 100 cubic next ….
Here’s Donny’s review post.

I will second the Omega SC, i’ve had mine for a month and since getting my .25 Cal i’ve use it about 6 hours of run time topping off my 4500 psi carbon fiber 88 cubic feet tank at least 5 time. It does take about an hour to go from 3000 psi to 4500 psi and no issues so far. I LOVE having my own air. I did get a diablo dryer as well many have said they don’t trust it but I living in the high desert so don’t really care will check it twice a month for any color change and evaluate again after 3 months.
I have had great luck with my Omega Super Charger. In two years of use I have NOT DONE ANY maintenance and that is generally the record with a ton of these units out there now. I disagree with any assessment that maintenance costs will get you up to the cost of a Bauer JR II. That is funny. I know someone who did unscheduled repairs on their Bauer JR II (used for paint ball) twice now and it is EXPENSIVE to put it nicely. His first repair was nearly the cost of the Omega). A new Bauer JR II E1 unit cost is pushing near $5000 shipped now and it is not really a commercial unit. That is a ridiculous amount to spend for a home user IMO unless you have money to burn. You might find a used commercial unit at a good price but beware of repair costs and warranty.
I know a dozen folks with Omega SC’s now and only one has had several issues due to maintenance and one was a simple leak and the other from over lubing (which is very a common user error). Another had shipping damage issue and another froze in a warehouse before antifreeze was added to the coolant and cracked a plastic tube. I have actually received supplies I needed for free from the vendor so far so this thing has not cost me a dime besides the initial $1795 in two years. It is clean running and pretty quiet. It sits and runs in my wife’s utility room. 😆 Also, it is 120V and very portable since I haul it to a nursery/farm occasionally. It has auto shutoff with a backup. I will keep it. The Shoebox I owned before this by comparison requires regular maintenance runs a lot longer to produce the same air. I have 6 PCPs and a 30 cal and shoot nearly daily. Your mileage may vary. Frankly, I love it. There are at least three vendors selling them now.
Try this guy out.
He builds them
He repairs them
He sales them

Sam, in my opinion you have two options. Get a shoebox Freedom 8 or a Bauer Junior II. The cost of rebuilding China made compressors makes them a bad investment in the long run.
