TBH I’ve only taken it to 50mtres with the original 2mm valve. Now I have the new fix to be put in the gun
(3mm valve ). I am going to drop it as it’s been recommended to. I was hoping the new valve could withstand the high power. But the good thing about the 3mm valve ED says the accuracy is better. So it was worth the wait for it. :8:

Have you observed any pellet spiralling at such a high speed?

44.75grain up at 960 and 970fps

That is zinging for the 50’s. You closet to 1000 with the 44’s?

DT

Thanx for the reply keyser. If I decide to keep running at 939fps with th 50.15grain pellet. Till it breaks. How much for a replacement valve. Then I will drop to the recommended 870fps with the 44.75gr. Thanx again guys

Drid I am still running the custom valve from John that is built out of bronze. Wingman(Phil) and Ed got into a discussion about the strength of the delrin vs bronze. Ed’s recommendation was to run the gun around 870 FPS with the 44s. Based on what I know regarding the old delrin valves I would not run your .30 that hot. I think you will snap that valve.

Thanks for the quick reply keyser !!!! Wat is your opinion on me running the 50.15grain pellet at 930 !!! DO you think the new fix can handle this !!! I fill to 270bar and get about 30 shots !! Thanx for your advice

Remove the air tube from the upper receiver. Remove the rear plug that the bolt attaches to. Place the air tube on something soft with the gauge down and valve up. Take a large screwdriver and with all your might push the valve down. Use two hands and the flat part located at middle of the screw driver. A piece of angle iron, flat steel or any thing flat and tough will also work. Don’t be afraid, it won’t break! When it first releases air you’ll probably soil your pants, so get ready. Also turn the port away from your face and eye protection is not a bad idea.

This process will be easier if the gun has about 100 bar in it. If the air tube has 150+ bar on it you will not believe the force required to push that valve open.

Good news !!!! My replacement back plug and valve arrived today for my 2nd generation matador. 30.
(THANKS ED) as I don’t have a degaser
To empty the cylinder. My friend David is doing the swap for me. He has seen the video ED put on here how to change it. But how do I degas with out the degaser. Thanx

I should have all replacement parts shortly.

Ed, do you plan to release R3 .30 with a new valve or maybe we need to wait for R4?

I don’t think anything will be changed.

This was on a 270 bar fill. The 51.15grain were doing about 920fps.  With the new fix will it be ok to still do this. Thanx

Wow, that is some nice power. How did you get that? Did you observe pellet spiralling?

I’m shooting the 50.15grain at 925 to 930. Getting about 30 shots on a 270bar fill. I have it wound in . As keyser found the problem with the 2mm valve I no it might not last running this high. But with the new fix ed stated the accuracy is better. Can I still run it this high with the new fix and fill to 270bar? ???

Thanx for the reply ed l. As you stated at the end of the video with the new valve the accuracy becomes better. And also the new fix is peace of mind for me as I love this gun !!!(best gun I’ve owned). But with the new valve your are supplying for this would it be ok to still run as I have shown. Thanx

As we say, regarding any mechanism here in Russia “If it doesn’t itchs, don’t scratch it!” 🙂 It means if the machine is working properly don’t try to improve it, otherwise you can destruct it. So, if it works as good as you decribed, why do you need to replace it?
