And Swiss watches are nice as are the Wenger knifes. I´m proud being Swiss ! Or is it Swedish ? No – calling a Finn for Swede is an insult.
See what you´ve done now – i´m all confused… 😳
OK Ville, you seem to be in bad state now. Go to the hottest place you can find and pretend it’s sauna. Take off all your clothes, grab a beer and start practicing some swear words in your native language. Then run out of the boiler room to the nearest lake while shouting all those swear words. Swedes should take no note of that, there are enough Finns out there and the reputation is set already. You should feel much better afterwards assuming the lake is not too far away.
Done! I feel much better now.
He has a Peacock cruzing on the left of the target too,…wander how many critters he kills shooting in the woods with no backstop 🙄 🙄 🙄 🙄 🙄 🙄
Pretty normal on new Crickets to be tight but not rough. I like the turkey gobbling during the shooting.
WOW !!! the sidelever action in that Cricket .357 sure looked rough as Hell 😯 😯
Yep! So no you know why big bore AG´s don´t sell over here.
Wow in Sweden. That was exhausting just to read. 😯
States can regulate airguns and a few are pretty nasty like New Jersey.
Finland has the most liberal AG laws in Europe. For now. They are about the same as in US : Anything propelled by air , regardless if it´s a. 177 cal or a Howlitzer , is free to own as long as you´re 18 years old or have a written permission from a Custodian.
In Sweden it´s not. As i explained an AG that exceeds 10 Joule/ 7 ft.lbs falls under a FAC and in order to get that FAC you need to either have a license to hunt and have a permission for Pesting OR you need to be a member in a Gun Club that has FAC airgunning in their program. Once you find a Club that fills the criteria you need to be an active member for min 6 months before you can get a written certification from that Club so you can apply for that full power AG. The same exact rule applies to powderburners so it´s as hard/easy to get a license for an AG as it is for a PB.
A pretty stupid law … To make matters even more stupid is the fact that it´s OK to sell all the needed hardware to take a legal sub 10 J AG to full speed. You can order those kits at any AG dealer. It gets illegal once you put those legal bits inside your AG. 😯
Those laws would certainly take the wind out of the sails a bit for the airgun hobby in the US. Basically, the Feds don’t have jurisdiction on anything that doesn’t use an explosion to propel a projectile. Even a rail gun doesn’t fall under the Fed and they can be very nasty. I am not sure how lasers fit as they are becoming practical weapons.

That is the point – any and all AG hunting is strictly prohibited in Sweden and in many other European Countries. In Sweden an AG putting out more than 7 ft.lbs is a FAC item meaning it has the exact same procedure as do , say . 338 Lapua Mag Powderburner. And, even if you own a 200 ft.lbs AG it still isn´t allowed for Hunting , except for so called County Verminator use. And they won´t give you a permit for that easily – in fact if the job can be done with a 100 ft.lbs .22 LR round then you won´t get a permit to use a 100 ft. lbs AG for the job.
So – for me an AG exceeding the .25 cal is kinda useless and costs more than a .22 LR to shoot. I can buy very good .22 LR ammo for the same price i pay for .30 cal AG ammo, not to mention .35 and yet bigger caliber Pellets.
I just emailed Tony and it sounds like the 30 cal valve stems are still the same. I have two of them and should be good for a long while. I don’t really plink with the 30 cal too much. :biggrinn: To me at 875 FPS it doesn’t really seem like my .30 cal slaps as hard as the .25 cal set at 915 FPS.
“Knock on wood” I have over 1700 shots on my first gen Standard .30 Edgun w/o even upgrading the stem and it still shoots great. I know on the next gen Ed upgraded the hammer, spring, and valve stem I believe. I have been trying to locate an upgraded stem if they are available. I have some of the old stems as spares just-in-case but so far so good. 😉 The large muffler is very effective. I s a lot quieter than my .25 Edgun stock. My gun is tuned at 875 FPS 75 FPE.
I have seen .30 caliber guns like Edgun, Daystate, RAW and FX put up incredible groups. Some of them could truly compete and win at the extreme benchrest. Coons are tough and I understand using a .30. I understand the need for larger calibers, When an airgun gets almost firearm loud and they are not accurate then I loose interest From what I have seen Ed’s .30 is quiet and accurate. This Cricket 357 does’t seem to have those two features. The Edgun .30 has temped me at times, I am just waiting to see the next generation of .30s that should be here in the late winter/early spring. I may be joining the .30 club for the reasons you mentioned.
I agree except the largest true airgun caliber s/b .30 IMO and maybe 100 FPE. They are as accurate as my .25s and still quiet and have plenty of shots and friendly in large backyards and useful for the larger pests like raccoons. Generally, a .22 LR is beyond backyard friendly and pretty dangerous in tight spaces.
